MA Bed & Breakfast Weekend
Linda and Phil Halpern, formerly of Maplewood, NJ, purchased Brook Farm Inn in 2001. Phil had been a candy broker, and Linda had been a school media specialist as well as professional storyteller. She contributes to the literary heritage by telling stories at teatime. The Halperns also enjoy continuing the tradition of inviting poets for readings; guest readers have included Barbara Wind, Alfred Corn, Bob Jacob, Richard Berlin, and Peter Bergman. Since Linda and Phil became innkeepers, they’ve continued to enhance the property. In addition to major re-decorating in the main building, a carriage house was added in 2003, offering luxury accommodations and handicapped accessibility. The Halperns named the new building Shadowood, in honor of the inn’s original name. The completely redesigned gardens have won the Lenox In Bloom award. Brook Farm Inn recipes have recently been featured in the New England Bed and Breakfast Cookbook, A Taste And Tour of Northeast Country Inns, and have won a prize in North American Inns Magazine. The inn also has been accepted as a member of the prestigious Select Registry-Distinguished Inns of North America.

Start your day with our sumptuous buffet breakfast, starting at 8:30 and ending at 10:00. You’ll wake to the aroma of one of Linda or Phil’s legendary dishes…perhaps apple baked French toast, sundried tomato strata, or vegetable frittata. The hot entrée, which changes daily, is always accompanied by home baked muffins, coffee cakes, and fresh breads, along with cereals, yogurt, and a fresh fruit platter. Linda and Phil will be on hand to refill your coffee cup and suggest interesting ideas for your day in the Berkshires. Our cuisine is meatless. We do our best to accommodate special dietary needs.

The Shadowood Green Room (Shadowood 1) Indulge in the spaciousness of this exquisitely appointed, ground floor carriage house room with king bed. Enter from the private deck overlooking the gardens and swimming pool. Lavish amenities await you, including fireplace, tv/dvd, refrigerator, coffee maker, and two-person Jacuzzi with separate stall shower. Fit for a king and queen, the room is decorated in hunter green and white with splendid mahogany furniture. You can enjoy the garden view from the loveseat, with its antique coffee table. The room is completely barrier free as well.

The Victorian Room (Room 1) Step out of the bustle of everyday life, and into the allure of the Victorian era, in this heavenly, large 2nd floor room.
