A lovely setting. Very peaceful. They gave us a wonderful surprise upon awaking with snowfall outside. An excellent breakfast. And, along with friendly innkeepers an adorable dog. We'd come back again when in this area

We repeatedly stay at The 1886 House whenever we are in the general area of Western Massachusetts (Berkshires). It is always very, very clean and the owners go out of their way to make their guests feel wanted and comfortable. The rates are reasonable and it is very convenient to the beautiful hilltowns and to North Hampton.

Carol Lingg is an exceptional host! She continues to add to their totally relaxed environment with adventuresome and wholesome breakfasts, hospitality beyond the normal offering extra service, advice and home-type comforts when needed. NThey never put a demand on the stay and you end up feeling right at home. We have been going there for over five years and we never tire of it because it the is always a little newness there each time we return. This is a model B&B. My wife and I have been staying at B&B's for over thirty years in the New England area between NY state and Maine and find the 1886 House to be the best, current and past.
