Experience casual elegance by the harbor from a neighborhood row house setting and times gone by at Blue Door on Baltimore Bed and Breakfast, in Baltimore Maryland. Located in the historic area of Butcher’s Hill, and steps away from Patterson Park, you are minutes away from all of Baltimore’s business and entertainment venues. The Inner Harbor, trendy restaurants in Canton, Little Italy, and Federal Hill, strolls in the park, Orioles and Ravens games, and Johns Hopkins Medical Center are all within easy reach from the Blue Door.

Guest rooms are located on the second and third floors of our early 1900’s Baltimore row home. The rooms are named after the rich history of Patterson Park just three blocks away from the Blue Door. Our luxury guest rooms are each appointed with a king size bed, sitting area, desk surface, and private bath with both a soaking tub and separate shower with specialty soaps and lotions and they feature lots of windows, ceiling fan, and central air-conditioning. To help you relax, listen to the sounds of a gentle in-room fountain. Wonderful Inn! Very comfortable, well decorated, spotless! Roger's breakfasts start the day well. Enjoyed the Patterson room - quite nice to have a balcony to relax on after a day of walking in the city. Glad to meet the new "assistant innkeeper" Leopold, a cute kitten. Will definitely make a return visit!

We cannot say enough about the Blue Door. The room was spacious, bed was extremely comfortable, and Roger is not only a fabulous chef, but a historian on Baltimore. The Blue Door is a dream in every way!

I visited the location once before, and decided to stay for an anniversary trip this year. I was expecting it to be good, but I have to say it's one of the best places I've stayed in (and I've been to quite a lot). The rooms are large and spacious, with excellent amenities. The common amenities are also excellent, with books and games and movies you can take out, and some good tea available whenever you would like, as well as computers you can take and use as you want. And the innkeepers, especially Roger, who is around more often, are simply great. Roger cooks an excellent breakfast, and makes little deserts for you to come back to every night, like cookies and chocolates, all of which are delicious. He's very nice, and very accommodating. I got in later then expected, and Roger simply took care of the bill the following day, with no issue. He's full of useful advice and generally a great guy. Overall, absolutely amazing stay. Will definitely be back again.

This B&B really has something special. It doesn't just feel like staying in a relative's house cluttered with outdated decorations like some B&Bs. I like a B&B with charm and that offers something MORE. Compared to relatives or myself, I prefer travel accomodations that are nicer; nicer decorations, better art (lots of great art on the walls here), more charm, nicer breakfasts, nicer china, nicer linens & bedding, nicer everything. Staying in a nicer place is what makes a B&B enjoyable, and this B&B is all that and more. But it still has that personal touch of a B&B where the owners know you by name and there is lots of homemade goodness. The homemade turndown treats were fabulous. The custom breakfasts, teas, homemade scones were all superb. Roger's omelettes were outstanding and he even shared some cooking tips with me. Room was spacious, lots of natual light (even a skylight), balcony, iPod station, wireless internet. The only other thing I could have used was a mini fridge. It was nice they had filtered water, soft drinks, and tea available anytime. Plus I LOVED Megan the cat. Pet-lovers will appreciate the warmth and cuteness she adds. The owners put a lot of thought and care into all the details...there was even a yoga mat in my room (which I used). I thoroughly enjoyed it here. Roger is a genuine, sincere, and gracious host. I enjoyed talkig with him. Plus, great location close to Johns Hopkins, a big park, and I walked to the waterfront as well. I will stay here again for sure.

This week-end in Baltimore was so much fun, and the Blue Door added so much, for we knew at the end of our day, we would return to such a beautiful room, with all the high end amenities that aren't found in the average hotel, for instance the old fashion soaking tub, the little "sweet treats" which were waiting in our room when we returned, the beautiful ambiance...we look forward to returning at the end of the day. Also, we had car trouble on a holiday week-end, a Sunday, and the owner personally found us businesses that would be open and able to help us. Now that's service, especially, when we were from out of town, and didn't have a clue as to where to get our car serviced. Once you open the door, and step inside, it's like another world in there.... quiet, serene, and first class all the way!

Roger and Cecila are warm, knoweldgable hosts. Roger is an excellent chef! Try everything he makes for breakfast. The room was spacious, expertly decorated and immaculately clean. My only recommendation is to use the garage if possible. There is not always room, but parking can be questionable in the city.
