Less than five minutes from the heart of Annapolis lies The Taylor House in a peaceful country setting that is a world apart from the dense, colonial town so near. Innkeeper Sophia Taylor Gibbs is descendant of a colonial Annapolis family, and her knowledge of the area and its history is most helpful.
The spacious rooms are well-furnished in Colonial style. They are immaculately maintained. Sophia offers a wide variety of breakfast options, as well as snacks and beverages during the day. When not enjoying Annapolis, the immense grounds and front porch rocking chairs provide welcome opportunities for relaxation. If you close your eyes, you can imagine the days when George Washington used to race horses in this area.
Anyone seeking interested in the Naval Academy, colonial Annapolis, or the legendary seafood of the area will find The Taylor House a delightful and convenient base from which to explore the area. And on crowded weekends –such as Homecoming Weekend when I was there- the peaceful country setting will be a welcome relief from the crowds.

We arrived from Washington on our way to the coast and stopped in Annapolis for just 1 night. We didn't expect such a friendly and easy stay at those costs! Sophie recommended nice areas and restaurants and we enjoyed the complete days! The taylor house is located in a beautiful area and you can enjoy pure nature!
She supported us for all our needs and it was one of the best times during our visit in the USA (we are from Germany).
Thanks for everything!

I called at the last minute for a room and they were very accommodating. It was just like coming home. Sophie and her mother were so warm and welcoming. We ended up talking for hours. I was in town looking for a job and Sophie (who knows everyone in town it seems) was nice enough to help me by giving me some contacts and ideas for jobs in the Annapolis area. I will absolutely stay here again.

This was my first time at a bed and breakfast, and it was a very positive experience. Sophie and Grandma made us feel extremely welcome. It was like visiting with relatives.

We have actually stayed at the Taylor House several times in the past 3 years, and we are booked already for June and August of this year. Sophie, the owner, goes out of her way to make sure you are at home in her home. The atmosphere is very relaxed and Sophie goes out of her way to accomodate her guests. I would highly recommend her bed and breakfast if you are visiting the Annapolis area. A very clean, friendly, and affordable place to stay.

Our stay was so relaxing and Sophie and Grandma made us feel like we were "coming home". I had to be in Annapolis for medical appointments and it was an upsetting time for me,, they both made me feel so welcome and surely helped to ease my worry. Both my husband and I enjoyed our visit and he had never stayed at a B&B before ,, this was his first time, and he definitely will come back. Their home was clean, beautiful and so welcoming. We sat at the kitchen table just like we were sitting at our own. Wonderful friends they have become in our travels.

An outstanding B and B. Sophie's hospitality was exceptional, and nothing was too much trouble. a well-travelled (but local) lady, who understood that sometimes away from home, you just want to unwind in comfortable surroundings. We shall return!!

Sophia graciously accepted us on a rare night that she had to be away from the Inn and trusted us to take care. We felt rushed to check-out on Sunday because we were unaware of check-out time. That was also our fault for not asking. This Inn is a very good value for your money and even though it's not in the historic or waterfront area, it very accessible once you get your bearings. It's great for a girls weekend getaway!

We cannot say enough good things about the Taylor House. Sofie & her mother (Grandma) made us feel like family. Our room & the house was decorated beautifully. You get the feeling of warmth as you enter. We felt like we were visiting old friends. We will definitely stay again when visiting Annapolis, Maryland. Richard & Louise Haran Brooklyn, New York
