Hotel critic and travel writer Dale Northrup, CTC came in off the road long enough to convert this 1830 Federal-style brick row house into an urban inn with amenity-rich rooms and historic suites, in the heart of Portland's West End Historic District at Longfellow Square. The innkeeper who has written nearly two dozen consumer travel books and speaks about hotels and cruise ships on syndicated travel radio shows has carved a fashionable niche for this downtown Inn. The Percy has been featured on NBC's TODAY SHOW, named Bed & Breakfast in New England by Yankee Magazine, and seen in Vogue, Travel & Leisure, National Geographic Traveler, Budget Travel, NY Times, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune and more. Situated at Longfellow Square in the historic district, it lays steps from a dozen restaurants and coffee houses and is shrouded by landmark buildings, art galleries, and antique shops. The I.M. Pei-designed Portland Museum of Art is one block.

Guests share a fireplace living room with a grand piano and collection of 600 movie titles for use in guest rooms, a second floor breakfast room and pantry open all day for snacking, a top floor pantry stocked with books on Maine and board games for rainy days, a bricked side courtyard and garden, and a large rear sundeck. For adventurous guests, the inn has a garage for storage of bicycles and kayaks during their stay. In summer, beach towels and coolers are provided for shoreline excursions and picnics.

Thoughtful amenities furnished in guest rooms include such unexpected extras as weather radios, umbrellas, wet bars and refrigerators stocked with complimentary soft drinks, candles, CD players, VCR/DVD, phone and fax, and Wi-Fi are some.

Continental Plus Breakfast	Free soft drinks in rooms, 24 snacking in pantry
Rates include buffet breakfast served 8-10am consisting of boiled eggs, a choice of scones, muffins, display of fresh cut fruit, bumblberry pie, yogurt, bread and cereal station with hot and cold cereal, juice bar, and breakfast drinks. Pantry open all day for snacking.

Check In Policy:
Check-in is 3 p.m. but we try to accommodate early arrivals by storing luggage and providing keys for your return later in the day.
Check Out Policy:
Check-out is 11 a.m. and we ask that you vacate rooms by then so we may prepare for the next guests. Luggage again may be stored until your departure. Special arrangements can be made for late arrivals and early morning departures.
Cancellation Policy:
Reservations cancelled more than 21 days in advance of arrival are accepted without penalty. Reservations cancelled 14 days or less before arrival are held to their reservation unless the room can be re-rented for the full duration of the booking, in which case a $50 fee will apply.
