This beautiful log lodge sits right on the shore of the pristine Pemadumcook chain of lakes. Covering more than 18,000 acres, this body of water provides unlimited recreational opportunities. Listen to the sounds of waves lapping against the shore or to the haunting cry of our loons while sitting next to our lake. Enjoy incredible views of Maine’s highest mountain, Mt. Katahdin while sitting on the beach or in one of our Adirondack chairs.
Beauty continues inside the lodge as well. From the exquisite detail of all the woodwork, the massive fieldstone fireplace and the ultimate comfort of each guest room, you'll be surrounded by natural beauty. This rustic yet elegant bed & breakfast is nestled on the shores of South Twin Lake, six miles west of Millinocket, Maine. Built in the traditional Maine sporting lodge style, this modern log B & B features five luxurious rooms, all with commanding views of the lake, majestic Mt. Katahdin and numerous lesser peaks within Baxter State Park.

From the lodge you can experience it all, boating, and kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting and world-class fishing. Listen to the hauntingly beautiful cry of our loons. Or in the thousands of acres of surrounding woodlands you can search for moose, go bird watching or try hiking on the nearby Appalachian Trail or hundreds of miles of trails within Baxter State Park. In the winter enjoy some of the best snowmobiling and x-country skiing in the northeast. No matter what your activity, at the end of your day relax by the fire in our Great Room or soak in the comfort of your own hot tub. |

We had the distinction and honor of being the very first guests at 5 Lakes Lodge when we found Rick & Debbie's wonderful place in July of 2004. Their beautiful, brand new lodge is literally surrounded by water and the view across the lake to the distant mountains is breathtaking! The rooms and appointments are outstanding - we are certain that organizations like AAA will give them their highest 4 diamond rating. No details were overlooked for the comfort and enjoyment of their guests. Rick and Debbie go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and at home.We plan to return for the snowmobile season next February since they are open year round. You are in for a real treat when you visit 5 Lakes Lodge!

We planed to stay for three days, but stayed for nine and made friends for lifetime!
It was our first time venturing to Maine to snowmobile and only by luck did Karen and I find the best place to stay in Maine. Rick and Debbie are both ambassadors to the sport of snowmobiling and their lodge is built to support the sport in no way I've seen anywhere else in Maine or any other state. The basement with its wood stove is great place to store the riding gear and to warm quickly after a long ride.
Though there isn't a bad room in the lodge, each with breathtaking views of Mt Katahdin, we were graced with the finest room available. Every aspect of the room from the bed to the bathroom was perfect.
Each day after a fantastic breakfast in the kitchen, Rick would recommend a loop or a destination and know what we would expect for trail conditions along the way. With gas available right at the lodge, there was no need to travel into the more popular areas which always tend to get bumpy to fill up.
After three days, we planned to leave the lodge and travel further northeast in Maine. Rick went out of his way to tell us where we should ride, what we should see and even assisted in helping us make lodging reservations. In the process of packing up to move on, I looked around our room and had a feeling like I was leaving home and leaving friends. I asked my wife how she would feel if we spent a few more days at the lodge and as you can imagine it took no more than asking the question and we were spending the entire week with Debbie and Rick.
We had a wonderful week at the lodge and with Debbie and Rick. Karen and I both agree that this vacation was in the top five of all time for us. We are already planning to visit this summer and we've told Debbie and Rick to reserve our room for a week next February.
