Situated in an excellent location in East Machias, Maine, Riverside Inn & Restaurant offers a variety of comfortable rooms as well as outstanding cuisine. Guest rooms are offered in the main house and the Coach House. Our location in Down East Maine allows you to relax and enjoy nature from your private deck or the dining room, or venture out to take part in this region's many activities.

For many of the inn's guests the most memorable part of their stay is their dining experience. The dining rooms overlook the river and offer a vantage point from which to view eagles, harbor seals, and other wildlife during daylight hours. The inn also offers cooking classes for all levels of experience. Our classes are tailored to the interests of the participants and cover a wide range of cooking and baking topics.

Hiking, bird watching, beachcombing, and puffin tours are only minutes away and the University of Maine at Machias and historic sites such as Burnham Tavern Museum, Fort O'Brien State Historic Site, and F.D.R.'s summer house at Campobello Island are nearby. Experience the outdoors at Cobscook Bay State Park, Roque Bluffs State Park and golf course, and Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge.
