The Manor Inn Bed & Breakfast is located in Castine, Maine, a year round historic community and one of the oldest villages in the country. The flags of four nations have flown over this peninsula at the confluence of the Penobscot and Bagaduce rivers on the Penobscot bay. The inn is set majestically upon its large front lawn with grounds that encompass almost 5 acres and borders a 130 acre conservation forest. Just out the door of the inn are wonderful trails through the Witherle Woods that lead down to the Penobscot Bay.
Originally built in 1895 as a summer cottage, The Manor Inn is elegant, but comfortable. The spacious living room with a large fireplace is welcomes those that enter. The pub, located just off of the living room, is home to many who find it warm and inviting. Our dining room, large enough for events and weddings, has a nautical theme. The Commodore Room was named because the first owner, Arthur Fuller, was commodore of the South Boston Yacht Club and because of the local association with the maritime world. Most of our bedrooms are very spacious; 4 have working fireplaces; all have private baths. Wireless internet is available through out the house. |
