Located in Castine Maine, few inns along the Maine coast offer the unique setting and style of The Castine Inn. The Inn is located in Castine Maine, a peaceful, historic village situated on the tip of a peninsula overlooking Penobscot Bay, one of the world's loveliest cruising grounds. The village of Castine Maine remains one of the most beautiful towns in New England due in great part to its residents who have taken pride in preserving the historic nature of the village.
Many of the 18th and 19th century Georgian and Federal style homes have been carefully restored, and the town has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Castine citizens have worked diligently to maintain the majestic stand of 85' tall, graceful elm trees that shade many of the village streets. Many guests also make the Inn their base from which to explore the scenery of Penobscot Bay and the Downeast region of Maine. Camden, one of the prettiest and most popular port towns on the Maine coast, is located approximately one hour west of the Inn.
The communities of Bar Harbor and Blue Hill are also easy day trips from The Inn. |
