A Maine Vacation like No Other! Oakland House Seaside Resort is one of the last of the original Maine coastal resorts. Virtually unchanged in its 118 years, it retains its charm and homespun hospitality while providing comfortable modern amenities in a rustic coastal setting. Shore Oaks Seaside Inn has 10 bedrooms in authentic Arts & Crafts decor, a common room and hearth, library, and oceanfront porch. The 15 cottages welcome families with children.
This handsome 50-acre compound stretches along a half-mile of oceanfront. Hikers can climb 250' above sea level to Lookout Rock. There is a dock, moorings, and rowboats for guests to use. Fresh water swimmers find the lake beach a nice alternative. Nearby are numerous art galleries, nature preserves, crafts and antique shops and bookstores. Blue Hill is but 11 miles away; Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park is 45; with Stonington and Castine 25 by car. Weddings, family reunions, group events and meetings: our specialty.
