Perhaps in a nutshell, we expected to stay at the White House for one evening, and ended up staying for five. Our original intent was to make no serious plans, and try several different inns as we looked for property in the area. We were so delighted with the service, friendliness, and the help that our hosts gave us, we stayed for our entire vacation time. And the breakfasts were outstanding five star quality to be sure! All in all, the White House is an incredible value, and I have to say I wouldn't be inclined to even try another inn in the area, as unfair as that may seem.

Envelop yourself in elegantly decorated surroundings and first class service...and enjoy it all with a comfortably casual spirit - a rare combination of true hospitality provided by the hosts, Bob and Terry.
The gourmet breakfasts are unbelievably creative, visually appealing, and provide an absolutely wonderful start to the day.
Belfast is a town with a charm all its own minus the crowds in other coastal communities. It is also very conveniently located along Mid-coast Maine such that day trips in any direction can easily be made. (The area abounds with events, activities, and attractions sure to satisfy all interests.)
After daily explorations and recreation, there is nothing better than to return "home" to The White House to relax and retire in the luxury of your private room. And because there is nothing better, you will want to return "home" to The White House on each successive trip to Maine!

This is an outstanding inn. We have stayed at the
White House on nearly thirty occassions. The accomodations are luxurious, the hospitality of Terry
and Bob unequalled. Each morning a gourmet breakfast
is served in the elegant dining room of the inn. The
other public room of the inn are grand. We have stayed
in nearly all the rooms of the inn during our many return visits, all are finely decorated and absolutely clean. The City of Belfast is a great place to visit in the Mid Coast of Maine. A little over fifty miles
to Acadia National Park, near the famous Camden harbor,
the inn is located in the historic district of this
friendly little oceanfront city. Bob and Terry are
gracious hosts and provide their guests with a truly
memorable experience.

An outstanding B & B. Top accommodations, gourmet
food, beautiful furnishings, large shaded grounds,
wonderful location in a quaint coastal town plus
friendly hosts who aim to please and succeed - all
make this a great B & B to stay and use as a base when
on a Maine vacation.
