Southern Comfort Bed and Breakfast

While visiting family in New Orleans, we decided to treat ourselves to a couple of nights at a Bed & Breakfast, and Southern Comfort was just that, a treat. Cindee, the Innkeeper, did an amazing job of making us feel at home, helping us find stuff to do that our family, who was new to the area, didn't know about. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, fun to chat with, and the area was nice and quiet, something I wasn't expecting from being so close to the French Quarter, or from being in New Orleans in general. Everything is very relaxed though, and the rooms are just as beautiful and clean as they are peaceful. Lovely high ceilings and big, soft beds in the rooms are just as tasteful as the rest of the house. And speaking of taste, the Creme Brulee French toast was absolutely amazing, as was the rest of the breakfast. It was nice to sit out on the porch and look at the lovely houses and calm street while we had our coffee.
The price was moderate, comparable to a hotel really, and the service and charm is so much greater than you could ask for from a big hotel chain. All things considered, it was a very nice experience, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who will be spending any time in the area.
