Built around 1900, C.A.'s House Bed & Breakfast is nestled in Lake Charles, LA. The original designers, Walter and Annie Goos lived here until about 1922 when they departed this home on Ford Street and T.L. Huber, president of the Huber Motor Company and Quality Oil Company, bought the home and lived there until his death in 1941. After purchasing the home in 1975, C.A. King II spent the next several years restoring the home to its original beauty and majesty and lived here until his death in 1991.
The house has two large doors in the foyer, one leading to the spacious living room on the left and the other leading into a large dining room on the right which contains all original canvas on the wall. The dining room is now home to The Kings Kitchen. The mahogany staircase leads up to the guest quarters on the second and third floors. Outside, within a serene landscaped hideaway, a beautiful private hot tub awaits. In 2001, this grand house located in the Charpentier historic district was purchased by C.A.'s niece, Tanis, and operates as a Bed and Breakfast catering to couples, business persons, and travelers. |
