The Victorian on the Avenue bed and breakfast is an 1890s Victorian-Styled home which has been completely restored by Kent and I. Nestled in historic Donaldsonville, we are in the heart of the plantation homes of Ascension, Iberville and St. James parishes. We are conveniently located between Baton Rouge and Louisiana’s legendary New Orleans, in a city full of rich and diverse heritage. You will find much to love and perhaps your new home-away-from-home!

Our B&B features five private rooms and baths; high speed wireless internet, and TV/DVD in rooms. Some rooms have an extra sitting room for your convenience. Antiques have been used to bring life and an elegant atmosphere to the house. One room is handicap accessible. Guest rooms are decorated in vibrant and rich colors, with luxury embellishments.

Heading to Baton Rouge for the day? It's a fun and amazing city that includes a diverse and wide range of activities. Enjoy fine dining, zoos, theme parks and museums one day. The next day you’ll wake up to a continental breakfast offering yogart, fresh fruits, sausage/egg croissants, instant cereals, Toaster Struddels and a lot more. After breakfast head out for a fun day of touring with sites that range from The Houmas House Plantation; to The House of Blues in New Orleans; to the wonderfull days of Mardi Gras. No Problem Raceway is 10 minutes from the B&B; Tanger Mall and Cabello's in Gonzales is 15 minutes; and a walk down the avenue takes you to our famous local artist Alvin Batiste's art gallery and Cabahnosse's Antique Shop. Just across the street, stop in and visit with Terry and take an art class. Donaldsonville has lots to offer. Visit one of the oldest grave yards in the area and the stunning historic Ascension Catholic Church.

At night walk to the next block for dinner featuring local flavor at The Grapevine Cafe and Gallery; The Capital Bar and Grill; Cypress Cafe or Cafe D'ville. Around the block, other restaurants include Cafe LaFourche, First and Last Chance and fast food dining: Wendy's, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Hot Wok and Popeye's Fried Chicken.
