Pam and her family were very nice. We had to re-schedule from on e weekend to the next due to weather, and she was very accomodating. Room still had dishes in it from guest before us when we checked in. Bathroom floor was dirty, tables needed cleaned in room. Coming back into room the next day, the bed was not made, dirty dishes in room, trash not emptied, but there were clean towels put out. I had to clean the room before I felt comfortable staying in there. She told us at breakfast the next day she was worn out from the previous long weekend. Breakfast was fine. My husband went down for coffee around 7:00am and since he didn't know how to work a commercial coffee machine, was out of luck. We were the only guests in the inn the first night of our stay. They were very nice and hospitible. (Just not very clean)
Response
What a disappointment for me as your innkeeper to learn of a room being missed or poorly cleaned days after you have gone--especially when the issue could have been quickly and easily remedied had you simply spoken up. You are correct--we are quite approachable and while no innkeeper likes for there to be problems, our primary focus is on solving them daily so that each client has a great experience. Truly we had been swamped and human as we are were a bit tired but that is no excuse for poor service and we want to be that busy! You didn't mention the complimentary wine and chocolates we had for you on arrival, the great rates with the discount we gave you or the 3 course dinner we believed you enjoyed. I wish also that you had told me so I could have cleaned it properly--unfortunately the new bath towels you used are ruined. Lesson to me--I must check every room myself each day not relying on my helpers, and to guests where-ever you may stay--please talk to your hosts, good and bad, we can take it and hopefully fix it for you--we wouldn't be in the hospitality industry if we didn't enjoy making you happy! Thank you.

It was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and we felt right at home thanks to the great people who run this place! Also, the food was delicious.

The innkeeper, Pam, was very personable without being intrusive and she is a great chef! Her son, Ross, was an excellent waiter and concierge. Parking was tight and the piano needed some work, but everything else was delightful. Our room was quite comfortable and we took advantage of the DVD library. Our room was on the first floor and we could hear the people in the room above us moving around, but the sound was not enough to keep us awake. We would definitely stay in the Montgomery Inn again.

The inn offered dinner, which was a really nice option rather than trying to find somewhere to eat after a long drive. The food was good; the dessert was absolutely spectacular!
The breakfasts were good but nothing out of the ordinary or unique.
Pam offers beverages and snacks 24 hours a day, which is a nice touch.
Pam was very open an personable.
