At the Samuel Culbertson Mansion, Louisville's most historic bed & breakfast inn, we are especially keen to give you a sense of place and history along with modern comforts. In our comfortable queen and king guest rooms, we offer privacy, romance, and amenities like cable TV and private baths. At breakfast, you'll usually dine at the same table that has hosted Kentucky Derby dignitaries, Spanish-American War generals, even an ex-confederate general...and more recently well known figures of film, TV, sports and politics (though, alas, our privacy policy won't let us boast who they are.)
Even though the Samuel Culbertson Mansion is opulent, life here is casual. It's what's you'd expect at a house that was one of the birthplaces of the Derby Party. Whether in jeans or tuxedo, you are invited to come downstairs and "set a spell." You might enjoy curling up in the drawing room with a good book or in good conversation. From Spring through Fall, our courtyard garden is like a tranquil oasis in the center of the city. Afternoon refreshments, coffee or tea are served on request. Let us know, and you'll be invited into our "Kentucky Rathskeller" to enjoy a couple of drinks at our bar (complimentary, of course), play some pool, or bubble away the stresses of modern life in our whirlpool spa. |
