For an elegant respite in the horse country of Kentucky, you’ll find it at the Blackridge Hall Bed & Breakfast. Enjoy all the amenities of today in the Blackridge Hall B&B, a 1990 mansion which features the detailing and charm of homes built a century or more ago. From conception to completion Jim D. Black, your host, was personally involved in all aspects of the design and decoration of this magnificent home. This Southern Georgian mansion is a reminder of the Old South’s plantation homes, and overlooks a 200 acre horse farm, The Heritage.
Guests drive up a winding drive lined with newly planted Bradford pear trees. The Southern Georgian-style mansion's facade features four 20-foot columns on its front porch. Double doors open to the foyer, done in Italian marble. If you desire more than relaxing there is much to see in do nearby. Less than 20 minutes away you will find: Georgetown College, The University of Kentucky, Downtown Lexington and Rupp Arena, Keeneland and Red Mile Race Track, Factory Stores of America Outlet Mall, the Toyota Motor Corp. Horseback riding is also available nearby. Blackridge Hall is less than an hour drive from historic Harrodsburg and Shakertown. Jim D. Black, your host, is knowledgeable and happy to guide you in the right direction. We look forward to your visit! |

What a wonderful and peaceful time at Blackridge Hall. The moment we set foot on the property, Jim was there to make our stay a memorable one. The rooms are clean and his house is beautiful ! His attention to detail is remarkable. If you love local history, Jim has a wealth of information. The breakfasts were a delight. We will certainly stay again. Thanks to Jim and his wife for a relaxing stay in bluegrass country.

We really enjoyed our stay at Blackridge Hall. Mr. Black is a gracious southern gentleman. The home is beautiful and is located in the heart of horse country. The candlelight at breakfast was a nice touch and the food was gourmet and well-served. The KY Horse Park is nearby and is a first class attraction. The Georgian structure is situated on a beautiful, spacious lot with thoroughbreds grazing in view. The ambiance was wonderful.

Blackridge Hall was outstanding! The place was huge and gorgeous! We felt like we had the whole house to ourselves (only 1 other couple was there, but we never saw them). Mr. Black is a true southern gentleman. He gave us a tour of the house, served a delicious breakfast, and wonderful to talk to. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Blackridge Hall is in a beautiful setting in absolutely gorgeous horse farm country. The accomodations and furnishing are first class. I felt very comfortable making myself at home and visiting with the hosts and other guests. Jim, the host, was most gracious in helping me with the tours and sites to visit in the Lexingon area. I would recommend Blackridge Hall to anyone who is seeking a country setting in the very quiet countryside north of Lexington. Oh yes, the food was fantastic.

My husband's mother is gracious enough to give the gift of an overnight stay at a bed and breakfast each year as an anniversary gift. This year she chose the Blackridge Hall Bed and Breakfast. I checked out the b and b's website before we reserved our date and thought that it looked like a very nice place to stay. After staying at Blackridge Hall though, I can say that it did far exceed our expectations. Mr. Black has put thought into EVERY aspect of this beautiful 10,000 square foot dream home. He has wonderful stories to tell about the artwork, antiques, and architecture of the home and it's surroundings. If you are a history buff you will NOT be disappointed! In addition to that, the rooms are very clean and the beds are the most comfortable we've stayed in at any b and b. The atmosphere is quiet, but far from being stuffy. Mr. Black opens his home to you and makes you feel quite welcome and free to roam. Our breakfast began with a beautiful fruit plate and was followed by a delicious eggs benedict. We would definitely recommend this b and b to others!

Jim Black was a true southern gentleman. He extended expert hospitality. My husband and I were celebrating our 22nd anniversary. We had to reschedule from an earlier date...so it was a belated birthday/anniversary getaway. The property was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The only thing we could find wrong...was we had leave!

Staying at Blackridge Hall was an incredible experience. I felt like I was in a colonial Kentucky mansion which of course I was. The food was gourmet, all homemade. I would highly recommend Blackridge Hall.

This was our second visit to Blackridge Hall and it will not be our last if we ever travel up I-75 North again!
This is definitely not a motel stop or the ordinary B&B over-nighter. It is an “experience” of elegance which gives special and lasting memories to cherish.
One is greeted at the door by Mr. Black (host) and made to feel at home instantly. A handwritten welcome note is also found in the chosen room. There could not be a more gracious host anywhere.
The stately mansion was meticulously clean, and decorated in an upscale Southern Georgian style. We were immediately transferred into the different era of the antebellum days in the south.
The grounds surrounding the home are beautiful and manicured to one’s delight and pleasure. Surrounding are the rolling hills of Kentucky Bluegrass Horse farmland.
The fresh, country air lends itself to a good night’s sleep in a tastefully luxurious room with a very comfortable bed.
Breakfast is an experience in itself! We were able to leisurely enjoy our multi-course gourmet meal as it was presented by our host in a personal manner with European elegance. In all our travels around the world we have never had such a presentation. It is truly a feast for the eyes as well as the taste.
Blackridge is a lovely "home away from home" where one easily feels comfortable. We felt pampered by our host, Mr. Black, as he provided us with an experience of special memories - long to be remembered.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The B&B is in a rural setting that is quiet and peaceful, yet you can be in downtown Lexington in 20 minutes. Our host, Mr. Black, was courteous, helpful, and very knowledgable about the surrounding area. This home is decorated beautifully and comfortably. We especially liked sitting on the patio in the evening watching the horses in the pasture of the neighboring farm.
