Block Hold & Group Cancellation Policy
A block hold is where a block of rooms or the entire property is held for US$100.00 per room. The room block's purpose is to allow the principle party time to receive R.S.V.P.s from their potential guests and it allows their party members time to make deposits on the rooms that were held for them. Blocking the rooms prevents other unassociated parties from making reservations on the held rooms.
Ex. A bride and groom decided to hold their wedding at Coral Cove and would like to hold 8 rooms in addition to theirs at the property for their guests. Thus, they make their 25% deposit on their reservation to secure their stay. They then pay $100 for each room they want to hold. Since they want to hold 8 rooms on the property, they will pay $100 for each room they hold amounting to $100 (8) = $800. In order to finalize this, the bride and groom would send the signed agreement, their 25% deposit on their reservation, and $800 for the rooms they are holding. Coral Cove would then hold these rooms and prevent other parties from reserving those dates.
Once the held rooms are confirmed with a 25% deposit from the other guests, the $100.00 per room hold fees can be credited back towards the principles package. However, Coral Cove Resort will not credit the $100 on the account of the primary party for each held room that wasn’t booked.
Ex. A party decides to block six rooms ($600), but Coral Cove only receives deposits from guests on four rooms. Coral Cove would thus credit the principle party $400 and the other $200 would non-refundable.
All cancellations that meet our Cancellation Policy and have a refund due will be processed in accordance to the policy stated, less a 5% credit card fee for those payments made by credit card. Refunds will be issued and processed within one month of written request.
Hurricane Policy
Coral Cove Resort highly recommends that you purchase trip cancellation service if you are traveling during the official hurricane season from June 1 to November 30. The insurance will cover you in case of a natural disaster (please verify all terms and conditions with the insurance company). If there is a Tropical Storm Warning or a Hurricane Warning issued for Jamaica, Coral Cove Resort may close before or during your scheduled reservation and you may be asked not to come or be asked to leave early. If you do not purchase insurance coverage, and are unable to travel, are unable to stay in our accommodations, or are asked not to come or to checkout, or to depart the island early due to a tropical storm or hurricane, Coral Cove Resort will hold on account for one year, the unused balance of your reservation which may be applied toward the payment for any new reservation beginning within one year of the originally scheduled arrival date. We will not hold your balance on account if the hurricane is not a threat to Jamaica and you are unable to travel because of cancelled flights. You will not be refunded for any of these circumstances. If you do not purchase insurance and are currently on the island, if you choose to leave, you will not be refunded or credited for the unused portion of your stay. Under all circumstances, Coral Cove Resort shall not issue a refund whatsoever.
