Thornton House Bed and Breakfast Inn of Lansing, Iowa and close to the Mississippi River is a striking example of classic Italianate architecture. Having been constructed in 1873, the B&B served as residence, Doctor's office and pharmacy for Doctor Thornton and was lovingly held by his family for almost 100 years. The bed & breakfast has been restored and is decorated in a relaxing French country style. Many rooms retain such vintage details such as tin ceilings and original moldings. We also offer the Thornton House Cottage which sleeps 2-4 and offers a fireplace, full kitchen and 2 porches with a full main channel Mississippi Riverview. For breakfast, we serve a help-yourself buffet consisting of a main dish with a variety of danishes or scones, beverages, cereals and fruit.
Our central location is within 5 minutes of downtown shops, restaurants and many other attractions. Within a ten minute walk through our historic downtown, you can be at the Mississippi Riverfront where you can stop at one of the many public benches along The River to relax and enjoy the scenery.

$25 charge if canceled 2 weeks prior to your stay.
