Wonderful, peaceful home. Don & Sherryl are perfect hosts-attentive and helpful without being overbearing. Beautiful rooms, quiet atomosphere, great breakfasts, no doubt our best, most interesting B&B experience in years. Rich & Linda Siri

The food was superb! We had a very relaxing weekend getaway feeling just as welcome as our own family. The In Your Dreams room was a large, wonderful modern touch on the classic B&B. the Pheasant room was a perfectly crafted selection of prairie/forest themes that really meshed together in all the right ways. The overall ambiance of the public lounge space and outdoor patios wrapped accented our room with just the right amount of escape. -Tom

Adriene and I, had to find a hotel somewhat short notice for a wedding in a near by town. With a homecoming going on at the same time it made finding a room rather tough. I came across Thyme for Bed through Hotels.com and after seeing the photos, it had me sold and to my surprise they had one room left available so I wasted no time in booking a room.
Our only regret, is that we didn't get to stay longer. We came in very early to check in and Sherryl was very accommodating to provide us a key to our room and take our luggage. Our room was not ready but that was fine since we were 4 hrs early and we had to leave quickly to head over to our wedding. We ended up getting back to the hotel at around 10:30pm and Sherryl was still up to greet us.
All of the previous reviews are spot on, the place is AMAZING, honestly the photos do not do the place justice at all because you cannot capture that much beauty in mere photos, it is something you have to experience. This was our first bed and breakfast and from our experience it won't be our last.
It's dome design, makes it unique, the way the rooms are setup with their own theme's makes it wonderfully nique. Sherryl is very accommodating with our food requirements and very thorough to explain our rooms and everything about them to us just in case we had questions.
We wish we could have stayed for a couple of days and enjoyed all of the offerings and the activities she was or had available like the campfire out back, the balcony views and two sets of living room furniture to just sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the country life.
If you are going to be in the area and are wanting a unique and wonderful experience I highly suggest you give this place a good look at before making any other decisions.

This BnB was unique, fun and peaceful! It was a fun place to explore. Seven swings on the property: two in the loft, two on the deck, two in the yard and one in the garden, which was under a willow tree. The Victorian room was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Each room has their own air conditioner that acted as a soother for me (I am a light sleeper). The breakfast was incredible and the owners bed over backwards to make you feel welcome and keep the place in tip top shape! I could go on and on.....

This was our second time staying at Thyme for Bed following our annual family reunion nearby. We so enjoy our stays that we recommended that other family members stay with us.
The breakfasts are great and we enjoy visiting with Sherryl and Don. A very, very quite location that is so relaxing with peaceful gardens to wander.

We live in central Ohio but were traveling to Chicago for a workshop. We chose Thyme for Bed for 2 reasons: the unusual design of the building and the fact that it was only an hour's drive from Chicago. The hosts, Sherryl and and Don were friendly, gracious, and made us feel right at home the moment we walked in the door. We stayed in the Pheasant Room, which was decorated with many little extra touches--even the closets were luxurious!--and a little dish of M & M's awaited us on the bed, and chocolate will win me over every time. The accommodations from top to bottom were immaculately clean and cozy-feeling, and Don gave us a lot of background information about how the home was built, which I found absolutely fascinating. The piece de resistance, however, were the breakfasts (we stayed 2 nights), which are now in a tie of "the best breakfast I've ever had." Sherryl previously owned a restaurant, and it clearly showed in the absolute FEASTS she served, exquisitely presented.
We will DEFINITELY return to experience this little piece of heaven again!
