Welcome to Market Street Bed and Breakfast Inn, located in Taylorville, Illinois just 29 miles from Springfield. The B&B offers our guests 8 delightfully decorated rooms. Modern amenities include central air conditioning, cable TV, wireless DSL and private baths with double whirlpool tubs. Newly restored in 2003 is the grand deluxe 550 sq. ft. suite in the Carriage House.
Relax on the Victorian wrap-around porch. Bring your bikes and explore the Lincoln Prairie trail, golf, shop or dine. Drive 30 minutes to Springfield Illinois to the new Lincoln Library and other Lincoln sites. Delight in the time when the fine art of conversation, a Victorian avocation, is practiced while lingering over that last cup of coffee or tea and sharing plans for a day trip to Springfield to experience Abraham Lincoln's home and museum. |

Wow! My daughter and I planned a 'mini' ancestry search in south central Illinois during the Thanksgiving week. While the area was 'home' to me, it was a first for my youngest daughter. We added the feature of Market Street Inn to our 'Must Do List' and were treated royally. The B&B pampered us royally and fed us very well. Of course, the 'hometown' dialog by Myrna and Joe brought me up to date on local events. Market Street In is a 'Must Do' on future trips.

Joe and Myrna were the most delightful innkeepers! They made us feel at home from the moment we walked through the door. The rooms are beautiful; cozy and elegant. A true gem in Taylorville!

The wrap-around porch warmly welcomes you to Market Street Inn. Myrna & Joe Hauser are gracious hosts and very helpful with tips on things to do, directions, restaurant reservations, etc.. They are the perfect innkeepers. Breakfasts were great with candlelight, a warm fire, and coffee poured from a silver pot. The inn is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. We stayed in the Chimney Room with its big sunny windows, fireplace, whirlpool tub, chairs to sit & read a book if you don’t want to use the parlor downstairs. I loved our towel warmers and comfy bed. Taylorville is a quiet town and a great base four touring Springfield, which is only a half hour away.

What a way to start the new year! The bed, the breakfasts and the boundless hospitality of the hosts (the impish Joe and the lovely Myrna) are in a word BODACIOUS! Not only that, but gluten free friendly too! Usually having to eat gluten free means feeling deprived while watching everyone else devour tasty treats......not so at Market Street Inn. Check it out, you will be glad you did!
