Wonderful B&B - the house is adorable with wonderful gardens to sit back and enjoy your morning coffee from and let your stomach settle from the scrumptious gourmet breakfast. Chef Monica is a culinary genius and having dinner there is a must as well. This was our second stay and we definitely plan to return - perhaps partaking in a cooking class next. The owners are incredibly friendly and make it a fun stay.

I reserved the Burgundy Room for my mother for Mother’s Day weekend this year. She has not stopped talking about it since she returned home! Like most mothers, my mother is selfless and does little to pamper herself. Monica & Jeff absolutely delivered! Mom arrived to the warmest welcome on Friday, and left with, what she considers, dear friends on Sunday. She was given her “alone time”, she was spoiled with amazing meals, and given the most precious gift of all – newly found friends! Thank you Monica & Jeff for spoiling Mom just as she deserved!

My wife and I don’t get away often so when we do we love to go to special places. The inn is impeccable. The bed was comfy. The breakfasts and dinner were extraordinary. Definitely a place for foodies. Make sure you have dinner at the inn. The cuisine you would expect to enjoy if you were a judge on Food Network’s Chopped or Iron Chef America.

We couldn't have a better place for Celebrating our 18th Anniversary. From the time you ring the door bell the personal attention you get from both owners Jeff & Monika it is amazing. Jeff gave us a quick tour of the house and make us feel like home. At 6:30 pm dinner was ready. Monika prepared a dinner out of this world with a Morocco touch. I want to share the menu: Potato Leek soup; mixed greens with oranges, raspberries, goat cheese, avocado and glaze pecans; Chicken tagine with apricot and chickpeas; and for dessert one of my all times favorite Crème Brule but this one was unique it was a cinnamon-orange Crème Brule. Our suite with wood chimney, all amenities and beautiful view to the backyard. Next morning we had Blueberry-orange pancakes with local bacon in our room. Thank you Chef Monika and Jeff, we will be back and we don't have anything but good things to say to our friends and family.

Superb and relaxing stay... the perfect experience for a weary traveler or the adventuresome soul. Filled with history and excitement, and the best food you can imagine! The town itself is historic, and the Inn is part museum and part magic! We truly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back. Jeff and Monika will take care of you in a first class manner. Meeting them and having wonderful conversations was one of the highlights of the stay! The food is thoughtfully prepared and served - Monika is a big part of the delightful dinning and you can tell she has a passion for pleasing!. It was hard to drive away .. Why aren't there six stars?

We,once again, enjoyed our one-night stay at Chestnut Street Inn. Monika and Jeff are warm and SO hospitable, and they really strive to make their guests happy in every way. Both the dinner and breakfast were outstanding, and the rooms are well-appointed and immaculate. We will look forward to another return visit!

We joined some friends recently for a winter weekend getaway at the Chestnut Street Inn. We are returning guests, and we found things just as charming as our last visit. Monika and Jeff are hard-working innkeepers, and it shows. No detail is unattended. Our rooms and the public areas were warm and cozy. The usual superlatives would be just about right for both our dinner and that beautiful breakfast. Sheffield, IL, is tiny, but that is part of the charm. Explore a bit. The innkeepers will make suggestions or just head out. This is gorgeous prairie country. We started planning our next visit over breakfast.

We enjoyed the opportunity to visit with Jeff and Monika as we delighted in a delicious supper on Friday night and a very unique gourmet breakfast the next day! They asked us to choose our own breakfast time, which allowed us the opportunity to sleep and rise up in a relaxing way! Freshly baked cookies, and coffee or tea were available at anymtime! The Inn is beautiful, well kept, and was cozily warm for our cold February visit! We will definitely visit again!

We had friends join us for dinner and Monika prepared a delicious four course, gourmet meal. And the bonus at the breakfast was the best lemon blueberry pancakes on the planet. Gluten free was not a problem for Monika, she has even written a cookbook on entertaining with gluten free dishes
