WOW - just got back from a VERY relaxing time at Mission Oak Inn! Denny and Jan were great hosts. The food was fantastic! (If you are planning to go, be sure to have Denny prepare a dinner for you.) We enjoyed the lake, hiking the woods, and doing a little cycling on the country roads. Our only regret was when check-out time came. If you ever need to recharge and reconnect - this is the place!

Mission Oak was the perfect place for us to get away from work, the city and everyday routines. Jan and Denny have created the perfect retreat for rest and relaxation. From the natural beauty of the area, the beautiful decor, and the delicious food, we could not have asked for a more comfortable and inviting place to stay. We are already planning our next visit with Jan and Denny.

This was our second visit to the Inn. We enjoy it very much. We were very impressed with Denny and Jan and how they have casual conversations with their guests as if sitting down at a family dinner, all the while being the best host/hostess we've ever had. We were impressed at our second visit how they remembered things we'd said at our first visit. The atmosphere is whatever you want it to be.If you want seclusion and quiet, you will get it. If you want outdoor fun, you will get it. If you want to sit by the fireplace with a great book or great company, you will get it.

Mission Oak Inn was the perfect place to spend our anniversary. Denny and Jan have created a wonderful place for couples to be secluded and pampered at the same time. The Lodge Suite was very nice and had all of the amenities that you would like to see. Besides great alone time for us, the highlight of our stay was Denny's gourmet cooking. His food is over-the-top good. The country setting with two wonderful hosts have us already planning our next trip back to Mission Oak Inn. Thanks Denny and Jan for helping to make our anniversay very memorable.

Revival & Renewal at Mission Oak Inn
We love winter and snow, and our trip to the Northlands was full of magical landscapes, wind farms with gigantic windmill turbines, and many species of birds. We arrived after dark, tired from the almost six hour drive, and both of us had been suffering with winter ailments. We were greeted by the hosts, who thought of everything to make our visit pleasurable. The first thing they offered was a homemade dessert, and once installed in our roomy suite (which is more like a stand-alone studio apartment) we found a fully-packed picnic basket. There were shrimp cocktails, whole wheat bread, chicken, turkey, salad greens, a lovely coarse cut cole slaw, a plethora of sauces, drinks, and homemade cookies. After enjoying our private repast, we lit the fireplace and enjoyed long soaks in the en suite Jacuzzi tub. The bed was queen size, very comfortable, and situated for views of the snowy landscape, chickadees on tree branches just outside one window, television, and fireplace. Both mornings gourmet breakfasts were served in a beautiful room surrounded by the oak artistry of Denny. The finish carpentry at the Mission Oak Inn will impress any builder or designer. The second afternoon, a massage therapist set up a therapy table in our suite, and for two hours she kneaded, pushed, and rubbed away our aches and pains, and pushed us further toward physical renewal. Dinner the second night was a pecan encrusted salmon on a bed of fresh mixed greens with a balsamic vinegar dressing and fruit for one, and a the same salad served as a course and steak cooked to perfection with all the trimmings, and a rich and flavorful chocolate cheesecake. The Reeds have created a B&B experience perfect for couples who need privacy and rest, and we were able to come back to life at the Mission Oak Inn after illness and a very long business year. There is a lake, and ice-fishing was offered, but we were happy just to rest, eat, and take in the views. We left with blankets of snow all around feeling revived, renewed, and ready for our next adventure!

From the moment we arrived till the moment with left, we were pampered to the hilt. Jan & Denny have mastered what a B&B is about, what is needed & how to leave a lasting impression that leads to returning customers & mastering the idea of one positive experience leads to 10 positive future recommendations. The layout of the B&B was perfect for us. We stayed in Bird Watching room, which is probably the best room of the two; of course that depends on each persons individual desires. The room sits on the North-west side of the house, it over looks the lake, has a private entrance & an outside open porch with seating for two. Inside all the amenities are there from a fire place, excellent whirlpool tub (designed with the guest in mind), bed, couch recliner, mini refrigerator, microwave, sm kitchen table for 2, awesome comfortable robes, bird watching materials & more. In addition, a television, DVD player & movies compliments of the host were avail, as well as internet access. We were greeted every afternoon with 3 delicious cookies. There are few B&B’s we have stayed at where the breakfast was a true compliment to the stay. The fresh seasonings & vegetables, home baked bread w/berries & apples from the farm & everything else that went into cooking from fillings in the eggs & dumplings to the warm touch of love that met our delight was beyond our expectations. We ordered dinner during 1 of the 3 nights of our stay. Although I was ill before dinner, I was able to eat a little of it as it was freshly presented to its feaster. The tenderness of the meat & the cheese mushroom stuffing which filled it was a fantasy to the palette. This B&B is one of the best we have stayed at yet. Although modest were our hosts they truly got it, understood what we needed during our stay and were very accommodating. Thank you for giving us what we needed, Best Kimberly & Chip.

This is our 3rd time staying at Mission Oak Inn. The times spent here are some of the most cherished times my wife and I have spent together. We have stayed here on our 1st and 2nd anniversary and another time in between! Denny and Jan our the best hosts in the world! Denny cooks up some of the best food on the planet! The rooms are comfortable and spacious. AND the fishing is FANTASTIC!!! If you like the great outdoors, eating amazing food, fishing, and spending quality time with one another this is the place you HAVE to try! Did I mention that only 2 couples stay at a time, so privacy is not an issue. You will NOT be disappointed!
