Welcome to the Annie Wiggins Guest House Bed and Breakfast in Galena, IL. As you relax on the front balcony, you can almost see the steamships that long ago visited our port. Though sleepy and calm today, Galena was once the busiest shipping port North of St. Louis and the wealthiest city on the Mississippi River. In its early years, Galena was the largest city in Illinois.
Just beyond the house are the forest and the Galena River. You can while away the afternoon on the veranda, sipping lemonade, listening to bird song and katydids. Annie's offers you plenty of space for relaxing and enjoying an evening on the veranda, the garden, the beautiful parlor or from the balcony viewing the Galena River. You too can recapture the graciousness of life on the river 150 years ago. |
