My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Welcome Inn Manor. The experience was outstanding. The Inn has a very warm ambiance, the decore is fabulous and the Inn keepers were attentive to our every need and request. The food was FABULOUS, and the hospitality and conversations we had with the Inn keepers was off the chain! We highly recommend the Welcome Inn Manor as an alternative to hotel accomendations in the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. We have wonderful memories and made lasting friendships and will be returning as often as possible.

Welcome Inn Manor stay Jan 28-30 2012 Wow, wow, and wow that's the feeling we got from our stay at Welcome Inn Manor bed and breakfast of Chicago. Wow, was my first impression of this beautifully restored mansion. The many antiques and sculptures were amazing to behold. My second wow came from our host Mell’s cooking. This man delighted us each morning with a very tasty and wonderfully made breakfast. This was a weekend outing to celebrate my wife’s countless 21’s birthdays. It was our first time at a bed and breakfast as well. And I must say we are hooked, thanks to Mell and Angie’s inviting and charming setting. Mell I will be calling you soon to set up for my big five O birthday party there. Oh, I almost forgot the third wow was for the way you guys help make my wife feel, she wasn’t to sure about going, being, we had never stayed at a B and B before. Nothing she ever found on the internet really caught her eye. She truly loved your place and look forward to coming back. A added wow would have to be for the suite, it was so roomy and comfortable. The whole house made it difficult to leave. Jacuzzi tub with a fire place, and large comfy bed also with a fire place, the Nat King Cole suite is a must stay. Thanks Much Have a bless 1 The Loves

Welcome Inn Manor is a gem hidden on Chicago's South Side. The property inside and out is a five star feast for the eyes on the history and legacy of Chicago's Bronzeville area. Mel and Angie are consummate hosts who are as warm and interesting as the decor of this lovely spot. If you are an interested traveler, Welcome Inn Manor is a wonderful place to rest on your way to discovering and enjoying Chicago.

I stayed at the Welcome Inn Manor to attend a party that was being held there. The home was gorgeous and authentically restored; lots of interesting features and appointments to admire. and I stayed in the Lady D room. The bed was very comfortable. The hosts were friendly and I felt comfortable in the home and safe in the area. I would not recommend the taking subway around there, it was a couple of long walking blocks away. If you have a car you will be pleased with the location; close to major freeways, downtown, and S Side/Hyde Park attractions and beaches. There was plenty of street parking and the neighborhood was quiet. The brunch on Sunday was very good. I would definitely stay there again. Very good value for the price.

The Welcome Inn Manor is just that a Welcome Inn. The Innkeepers are very warm and personable and target making sure there guests feel welcomed. I stayed one night at the Inn in addition to having my 50th bday celebration there. The decor was exquisite, my birthday party guests and I were in awe of the beauty and comfort of the Welcome Inn. I highly recommend the Welcome Inn for any event from grabbing a few friends to have tea there to having a big celebration including birthdays and weddings. The Innkeepers(Mell and Angie) were very flexible with me and my plans, attentative and they assured that my 50th celebration was fabulous and fabulous it was. It wanted to a have party like it was at my house without the clean up and all the work that comes with it. Well it was like I was at my house, that's how Mell and Angie made me and my guests fell. The grounds are well kept, like a sanctuary, beautiful gardens with a variety of plants and shrubs (if you are a gardener, you'll enjoy the view). Close to downtown Chicago and conveniently located from anywhere. Great getaway, I plan to go back and I hope you (reading this) will call the Innkeepers and go experience an exquisite atmosphere, some good conversation about Chicago's south side, some jazz among other history. Great Bed and Breakfast. Thank you Mell and Angie.

I really did not know what to expect. When I walked in I experienced a warmth and a fun energy that is rarely found in a bed & breakfast. I immediately got caught up in the art and artifacts. It has big overstuffed furniture in which a person could get lost. As a matter of fact, I reclined in a huge chaise, caught up on some reading while sipping wine, in the front room of the Inn, and felt as if I were home. For a cozy getaway, I highly recommend this bed & breakfast. Also, we only had breakfast there but the food was excellent.

Very charming home/B&B, lots of local history, gorgeously restored historic home in Bronzeville area of Chicago. Innkeeper Mel Monroe and his wife Angie are wonderful people and were a real pleasure to meet. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them. Highly recommend them if you need a place while visiting the University of Chicago, near South Side area.

We had a great time in Chicago and enjoyed staying at the Welcome Inn Manor. Mell is a very friendly and helpful host. Our bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in! We enjoyed the location, easy access to the freeway and scenic drive into the city along the lake.
