Heritage Corridor, which features the Illinois & Michigan Canal, a 97-mile
canal built in 1848 that connected the Great Lakes to the Mississippi
River watershed. Or, for hiking, hunting, fishing, and boating, be
sure to stop by Fort
Massac State
Park. Other great parks include the Lewis &
Clark National Historic Trail, the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the
Mormon Pioneer National Historic Trail, and the Trail of Tears National
Historic Trail.
