Savannah Beach Inn is one of 10 (9 remaining) grandiose houses built in 1898 on locally renowned Officers Row. The inn has panoramic views of the ocean and is located very near to the beach and a three minute walk to the lighthouse. Magnificently restored in 2001 the house is listed in the National Register and in the Fort Screven Historic District.
Outside the inn is three miles of dunes and wide sandy beach waiting for you to tan, beach comb or walk - and we're open year 'round!
The inn is within view of the beach. The sandy beach is wide, three miles long, and one of the most beautiful in the region. A three minute walk leads to the Tybee Lighthouse and historic Fort Screven. The island has fine and casual dining and is known for it's relaxed, small town, way of life. Twenty from Savannah by way causeway, the miles of marsh and ocean views as you approach the island are magnificent. There are few places better in the USA to enjoy the sunrise and sunset than Tybee Island.
Activities include ocean fishing, dolphin watching, and sea kayaking, long walks on the beach, eco tours and dancing in the bars or listening to music at the piano bar. Of course we can recommend some very good historical or haunted house tours in Savannah.
