"Savannah, A Gift for Mr. Lincoln" is a John Jakes novel about the Lester family who originally built the Galloway House and now it's the last Plantation Mansion standing in Historic Savannah.
Today we're more than a typical b&b or vacation rental, our guests enjoy their own private apartment and a healthy breakfast.
Located within 1.6 miles or less of the entire Historic District we offer four 1 or 2 bedroom apartments; each with it's own living room, full bath, free wireless internet access, HDTV, free on or off street parking, fully equipped gourmet kitchen and a complementary bottle of wine for BnBFinder.com guests.
Before you arrive your apartment is stocked with fresh bagels & muffins, orange juice, breakfast bars and yogurt along with regular and decaffeinated whole bean coffee, so you'll decide, get an early start or sleep until noon.
And having your own kitchen allows you to choose; go to a grocery store to save on the high cost of eating out or bring back doggy bags from Savannah's great restaurants.
We live on the 2nd floor with our Great Danes and never want our guests to leave a beloved family member at home, so either big or small, we welcome all well-behaved dogs!
Don't just visit Savannah; let the Galloway House be your home in Historic Savannah!

We've stayed at many B+B's, and The Galloway House is by far, the best place yet. We looked for a place that was affordable for us, and discovered we got more than we expected. We chose the first floor apartment of the carriage house. It was warm, inviting, and best of all, private. Everything you could ask for (including things you might have forgotten) are in the apartment. The owners Keith and Jim were friendly, and knowledgeable about wonderful restaurants and area attractions. Our apartment was like a home-away-from-home every time we walked in the door. We loved Savannah so much, we want to return and continue discovering this wonderful city...... and of course, staying at our new favorite place, The Galloway House.

Like staying with friends! Keith, Jim and their 2 Great Danes really made us feel like we were guests in their home, which we were but we really felt welcomed. The house is beautifully restored! The street is quiet and away from the big tourist crowds. We enjoyed evenings just sitting in the gardens with a bottle of wine almost too much! Highly recommend!

We've been to Savannah almost every spring for the last 12 years and The galloway House is the nicest place we've found! Keith has a great eye for detail and doesn't cut corners on anything. Dollar for dollar we all, family of 6, thought it was a great deal. We've already booked spring 2011!
