The Laughing Lizard Bed & Breakfast is a tin-roofed, three-story, Key Westy island home built in 2005. Located in the quaint island community of Indian Rocks Beach just south of Clearwater Beach in the Tampa Bay area on Florida’s west coast, this casual B & B is a contemporary throwback to the cottage-style architecture that speaks to Indian Rocks Beach's roots.
Fifty-six windows offer an eyewitness view of beachlife as it happens on Gulf Boulevard, the main thoroughfare in a barrier island beach community termed by a USA Today article as "the best beach town of all." Creatively colorful and eclectic guestrooms — all with private baths — make beach life as exciting indoors as it is outdoors.
The style here is eclectically casual and laid back. In the morning, enjoy breakfast in Lizard Hall…where you'll get a chuckle as you spot ceramic, metal, wood, clay, glass and fabric lizards lounging about in some of the most unexpected places…and yes…they are laughing. Coffee in hand, stroll across Gulf Boulevard to the beach for a morning walk. Ride the local beach trolley to the nature park, historical museum, many wonderful restaurants and other beach destinations up and down the coast from Clearwater Beach south to St. Pete Beach. Then sip a taste of afternoon wine and experience the sunset…maybe even witness the "green flash"…as the sun finally melts into the Gulf of Mexico at the end of a perfect day. |

I just loved everything about the Laughing Lizard...it was so welcoming, bright and happy. Bill was the ultimate host and the best cook - every breakfast was tremendous from presentation to taste. It was easy to find, easy access to all the fun and exciting things to do in the Gulf area and close to the beach. Rooms were immaculate, parking was easy and fre. It was just a wonderful experience and the best 3 days I've spent in a long time. With it being Christmas, Bill made it very homey and inviting.

We enjoyed our short stay at the Laughing Lizard. The room was nice and we enjoyed both the delicious breakfasts and the afternoon wine tastings. Bill, the Innkeeper, was very helpful in introducing us to nearby places to see and restaurants to visit. We also had some nice conversations with him. We really liked the Indian Rocks Beach community. It was quiet yet still had plenty to do. This made for a very pleasant beach experience - with little crowds and a lovely expansive beach to explore. We wished we lived closer so we could come back often.

Wonderful time celebrating my husbands birthday with our in-laws. Immediately felt at home in this bed and breakfast. Fantastic atmosphere and location. Will certainly return here for another get away!

We had to make a detour on our way from the airport because there was an accident blocking the road, and Bill provided us with good directions - and a glass of sangria when we arrived. He knew how to handle the B&B gift certificates (which many innkeepers don't). We loved the Crimson Chameleon room. It was fun finding the lizards everywhere. The beach is across the road. Bill provides chairs and towels to take along. The inn has an elevator to the second floor. The two breakfasts were heavenly. Bill makes great breakfasts, wonderful sangria and interesting conversation.

My husband & I stayed at the Laughing Lizard while celebrating our 55th Anniversary. It was the perfect place for us. The Inn is lovely with a bit of whimsy for enjoyment. Having lizards everywhere for fun. Bill
the innkeeper was so interesting, very warm and hospitable. He made us feel very much at home. The breakfasts that he prepared and served were 5 star each day. The time to chat with him and newly made friends over wine in the afternoon was enjoyable. Hope to return...............

We had a wonderful weekend in this lovely B&B. Bill's breakfasts were delicious and his hospitality the best. The restaurants in Indian Rocks were excellent. We plan for more weekend get-a-ways at the Laughing Lizard!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Laughing Lizard on New Year's weekend. We had a wonderful time. Bill, the innkeeper, was a wonderful host and very kind. The room was even larger and nicer in person than it looked online. The breakfast was delicious and the location was convenient. We were within walking distance of most places we wanted to go and everything else was a short car/shuttle ride away. I can't wait to come back to the Laughing Lizard.
