Victorian Charm In The Heart Of The City
Welcome to the Aaron Shipman House. Centrally located in the Logan Circle Historic District of Washington, DC. The Aaron Shipman House is 4 blocks to the U. Street/Cardozo Metro. There is also a bus 1 block from the home that travels to the National Mall and Smithsoinan Museums. The new Convention Center is within walking distance as well as Dupont Circle (both about 10-15 minutes).

Unique Home Away From Home Bed And Breakfast
We're centrally located in the Logan Circle Historic District, 6 blocks to Dupont Circle and 10 blocks from the White House. The red line Metro is 6.5 blocks from the home at Dupont Circle. The green line is 4 blocks from us. Additionally, there are major bus lines 1 block from the home that travel to the White House and the National Mall, and a separate line that travels through Dupont circle to Georgetown. The new Washington Convention center is 7 blocks or about a 15-minute walk.

Garden Retreat In The Heart Of The City
Our home includes a comfortable Victorian styled porch, formal English garden and brick patio. These are common areas for guest use in addition to your guest room. Inside, guests are also invited to relax in the formal living room or cozy parlor. We welcome you to make our home yours while visiting Washington DC

Unique Antique Filled Guestrooms
There are six guest rooms, all antique filled and thoughtfully decorated with designer furnishings. All rooms have color television and telephones. 5 of the 6 guestrooms are furnished with a queen-sized bed. We have one very small room furnished with a double sized bed. Additionaly, one room has a private bath with Jacuzzi, one with a working fireplace and one with a daybed for an additional guest.

Tree lined Q. Street
We are centrally located, just one block north of Logan Circle, on Q. Street. We are a residential neighborhood, but with easy access to great restaurants, and retail such as Whole Food Grocery, CVS Pharmacy and several banks. Washington's Metro (subway) is a short 4 block walk from the house, to the U. Street/Cardozo station, for the Green line, accessing the Convention Center in 2 stops and the Smithsonian Museums in 4 stops.

Apartment Bedroom
In addition to the main Bed and Breakfast, we have a fully furnished 1 bedroom apartment. This space includes a queen sized bed in the bedroom, large living room with a queen sized sleeper sofa, full bath, fully equipped galley style kitchen, dining area, writing desk, 52" TV with cable and wireless Internet access.

Second Floor Guestroom
This second floor guest room is furnished with a queen-sized bed. The room includes a decorative fireplace and has a private hall bath. This room can be reserved with another small room furnished with a double bed. The two rooms would share the hall bath. This combination works well for a small family or less expensive options for a group that does not mind sharing a bath with members of their own party.

Guest Room, 3rd Floor
This third floor guest room includes a queen-sized bed and twin sized daybed for accommodations for up to 3 persons. The private bath for this room is a marbled shower only, no bathtub.

Jacuzzi Room, 3rd Floor
This guestroom is furnished with an antique queen-sized bed, a decorative fireplace and private bath with 2 person Jacuzzi tub/shower. Wireless Internet is provided with all rooms. This room also includes a color television with premium satelite access.

3rd Floor Guestroom
Also located on the third floor, this room has a queen-bed featuring a select comfort mattress (also known as sleep number). The room is located in the middle of the home, overlooking the garden. All rooms include wireless Internet. The private bath for this room is a marbled shower only, no bathtub

Furnished Apartment
In addition to the 6 guest rooms in the main part of the house, we also have a fully furnished private entrance apartment, perfect for families or extended stays. The bedroom of the apartment is furnished with a queen-sized bed. There is also a queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room. The apartment includes a fully equipped kitchen, full bath, dining area, laundry facilities, Wireless Internet access, private line telephone and 52" television with cable.

Budget Room, 3rd Floor
This third floor guest room is located in the rear of the home on the 3rd floor. This is a very small room, with just the double bed and nightstand. The room includes a private hall bath, just outside the room accessed from the hall. This room works best for the single traveler, but many parties of 2 have stayed here as well. We offer lots of common ares for guests, so is you are willing to deal with a very small room, this may work for you as well. As with all rooms, Wireless Internet is inlcuded along with a hot cooked breakfast.

Guestroom, 3rd Floor
This third floor guestroom is furnished with an antique queen-sized bed with select comfort mattress (also known as sleep number). This room includes a small writing desk and attached full bath. As with all rooms, Wireless Internet and a color television are also included.

More Than A Guestroom
We offer many common areas for guests to relax including the cozy parlor and living room on the first floor. From Spring to Fall, we also have a covered Victorian style porch, patio and garden ares open to guests.
