Like staying with family. We were made to feel like the Captain Stannard House was our house! We were so at ease there. Our needs were anticipated, and even the few that weren't (they aren't mind readers!) were filled with pleasure. I had so much fun reading the plaques, browsing the bookshelves, and admiring the decor. We stayed on a cold and rainy Jan night, so did not get to enjoy the beautiful porch, but I can imagine a stay in the summer would be just lovely. Bathrooms are small (standup shower but CLEAN with pretty, original artwork (which can be found throughout). It was a wonderful experience.
