Welcome to the Tolland Inn, a stylish seven room bed and breakfast located on the historic village green of Tolland, Connecticut. We are convenient to the University of Connecticut, Hartford, Old Sturbridge Village and Interstate 84. From the inn, you can make day trips to Mystic, Foxwoods Casino, Brimfield Antique Shows and more. The Tolland Inn is an AAA three diamond and Mobil three star accommodation. The inn has three first-floor rooms for all our guests to use: the living room, dining room, and sun porch, with Rumford fireplace and windows looking out over the back yard. Walk out to the yard from the sun porch, under the grape arbor and onto the wrap-around porch complete with wooden rockers.
The Innkeepers are Susan and Steve Beeching. Susan is a Nantucket native and third generation innkeeper. Her grandmother owned Haddon Hall and her mother owned Eighteen Gardner Street Guest House. Both of these wonderful Nantucket inns are in operation today. Susan currently teaches second grade and supervises our inn keeping. Steve is a designer and builder of fine furniture. His furniture pieces are in homes across this country, as well as in Japan and Italy.
His work can also be seen throughout the inn mixed with the inn's antiques, as well as in the hand-tooled raised paneling and coffered ceiling of the sun porch. His touch is evident in hundreds of features of the inn: our canopy beds, dining room table, the "fainting couch", pierced tin lighting fixtures, mirrored wall sconces in the upstairs hall, bedside shelves, the design of our t-shirts and mugs, down to the tissue holders in the bathrooms... |
