The Historic Mansion Inn Bed & Breakfast, is situated in the prime located of New Haven, CT. Being only five blocks from Yale University, theaters, and shopping you will be nestled in convenience along with style and elegance. Across from Wooster Square, at the center of the Historic District, our neighborhood is filled with architectural gems and fabulous Italian restaurants.

The Historic Mansion Inn is a rare Greek revival architecture building, officially designated as a New Haven Landmark. The elegance and grace of The Historic Mansion Inn was built by Henchman Soule, sea captain and shipbuilder. In 1862 it was sold to Mr. Parmalee, co-founder of the Baldwin Piano company. The Historic Mansion Inn is the first residential building in the world to have its own fire sprinkler system. Some of the original pipes and valves are still part of the system. Parmalee's inspiration was the occurrence of a severe fire in the Baldwin Piano Factory. We are proud to be able to share such a historic masterpiece with our guests.
