Situated high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains in the small rural town of Empire, CO, The Peck House Bed & Breakfast is the oldest hotel existing in Colorado and was founded in 1862.
Finalist for Uncle Ben's 10 Best Country Inns of the Year Award, Winner in Search for the Best American Country Inn Cooking, and Winner of The Governor's Award for Colorado Cuisine.
The bed and breakfast is very romantic and perfect for honeymooners who want to be surrounded by scenic views. Close to most major ski areas, Denver, Central City-Black Hawk casinos, Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic District, Rocky Mountain National Park.
You will fall in love – as many have – with the Peck House. In 1980, the current owners, Gary and Sally St. Clair, stayed at the Peck House on their honeymoon. They came back several times that fall and by March of 1981 had arranged to purchase the inn! Today you will usually find Sally in the front of the house or in the extensive beautiful gardens. Gary, seldom seen, is slaving away in the kitchen to cook the unusual and creative cuisine for which we've become famous. Gary St. Clair is the owner-Chef of the restaurant. The cuisine is American with Continental influences. The Peck House restaurant has become famous throughout Colorado and has been honored with the coveted Governor's Award for Colorado Cuisine.
