The Weaverville Hotel and Emporium Bed & Breakfast is located in the historic Weaverville, California. In its convenient and great location Weaverville Hotel is adgacent to the recently renovated Trinity Theatre, several art galleries, the historic Chinese Joss House, and the Jake Jackson Museum and Blacksmith. There are several interesting shops as well, including our own 1,000 sq. ft. Emporium featuring fine chocolates, old books and photos, antique reproduction silver jewelry and collectibles, European fragrances and soaps, retro-style clothing, and other gift items.
The hotel, originally built in 1861, was last rebuilt in 1880 after burning to the ground. We have painstakingly restored it to the original high ceilings and wood floors, attempting to recapture as much of the original charm as possible. The building is on the National Register of historic places. Our hope is that our guests will remember their experience here not just as a step back in time, but as a pleasant, rejuvenating interlude where they have been able to get back in touch with themselves and each other. Named after Trinity County gold mines, all the rooms have private showers, air conditioners, heaters, ceiling fans, hair dryers, radio/CD players, and coffee makers. A refrigerator with a limited amount of ice is available in the store-room across from Room 2. A telephone is available to our guests in the telephone booth at the top of the stairs. |

We have many people staying with us who are here for their honeymoon or anniversary, or are wanting to escape their hectic everyday lives (including their children at times, as much as they love them). With a fair number of antiques and no T.V.'s in the rooms, this probably wouldn't be a very fun place for small children anyway. |
Childcare:
No |
Deposit Policy: |
None required. Guarantee to credit card. |
No Pets Allowed |
We have two excellent pet care facilities we can recommend, but would require at least a week's notice. |
Pets Living At Inn:
Yes |
There is border collie, Jessie, and a cat, Beasley, which are not allowed in the rooms. There are two outdoor cats which we inherited with the hotel, but they are not permitted inside. |
Smoking:
Outside |
By order of the Fire Marshall there is no smoking inside the building due to its historic nature and structure. |

Anyone looking for gold in the Trinity Alps need look no further than the Weaverville Hotel. Jeanne and Brian Muir have struck a rich vein with this lovely old building---and polished it to a warm, lustrous sheen. The Muirs’ boundless love for Weaverville’s history clearly sets the tone for a restoration that is no less remarkable for its restraint as it is for the incredible task of unearthing such a gem. Any person lucky enough to spend a day (or two or three!) in these rooms will leave with a clear glance back to Gold Rush. For us we experienced also a most gracious hospitality and the realization that luxury, in its true sense, changes very little through the ages.
