The Eden Vale Inn B & B in Placerville, CA was a wonderful oasis - away from the hubbub. We went there to relax and relax we did! The garden and pathways are very Zen and the views around the pond are beautiful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating - and gave us great tips on wineries and restaurants. The breakfast peach tart was memorable! We would love to go back!

Developed from an old hay barn, one would expect this B & B to be rustic and primitive. It is anything but. One' first view of the Inn is the brick red main house banked by lush foliage. Inside, the common area is furnished in warm tones with Native American accents and leather furniture. The decks look out over lush terrain. A pond for row boating and swimming adds to the charm of this romantic inn. The bedrooms are decorated with fine quality linens, decorative decor, modern bathrooms, controlled air conditioning and lighting. Each room has its own private spa. The attention to details is amazing. The furniture is tasteful as well as comfortable. Cozy robes and slippers are provided for guests. Breakfast was delicious and served on the back deck. Guests were friendly as was the staff. The location is wonderful as there are many wineries nearby, a fine dining restaurant, and river rapid activities. This B & B is definitely first class, and we cannot wait to return with friends.

I’m not one who is easily impressed by Bed and Breakfast establishments. Yes they have a down home charm and a welcome change of pace from hotels and motels, but for the most part it turns out to be a place to stay. Eden Vale Inn in Placerville however did impress me with the vision of turning a barn into a Bed and Breakfast. The building is very unique; I was fascinated by the construction and layout. The grounds are well maintained and I enjoyed the walkways on the property. Bottom line is that I enjoyed the amenities that Eden Vale Inn offered and recommend a stay. The staff is very helpful and enhanced our stay.

I had heard how wonderful Eden Vale Inn was, but it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The rooms are amazing, the food is fabulous and the hospitality couldn't be better. We enjoyed ourselves, relaxing outdoors in the gardens and by the pond - the most peaceful day I've had in a long time. Thank you!!

Eden Vale Inn B&B in Placerville, CA is a beautiful place - the grounds are lovely, with many water features, lots of birds & butterflies, and peaceful quiet. Our 2-night stay in the Cottonwood Room was special - the decor, special amenities and private patio added to the overall peaceful ambiance of Eden Vale. We loved Gayle & Kirsten's delicious breakfasts - wonderful! The best anywhere! We've visited many B&B's and Eden Vale is #1 for us. We look forward to our next visit - to unwind, relax & enjoy the special property Mark, Gayle & Kirsten have created - I miss Gayle & Kirsten's breakfasts, walks around the property, luxurious room setting, and the sounds of birds as they too enjoy this special place.

We have been to many, many B&B’s in our years of travel. Eden Vale Inn is at the top of our list of all time favorites. It is the first B&B that we hated to leave. Coming off a hectic business schedule into the Eden Vale Inn gave us the relaxing atmosphere that we so desperately needed. Starting on the inside, our room, the Live Oak Room has more features and comfort items than a hotel room at several times the cost- we wanted to take the mattress home on the top of our SUV! The Japanese soak tub outside of our room took all of the starch out of our bodies. There are many sitting areas inside and outside that are well placed and private. Construction and design quality of this relatively new building is top notch. We also enjoyed the many walkways and vegetation around the building. The &B part was special-great coffee, pastries, fruit and egg dishes. We’ll be back!

We stayed one night at the Eden Vale Inn near Placerville/Lotus/Coloma and loved it. We have stayed in wonderful places all over the country, in Europe, and in Bali, and this ranks with one of the all-time most beautiful and romantic we have visited. The property is unique, creative, immaculate, and luxurious. We loved the beds, linens, outdoor private soaking tub, and beautiful fixtures/lighting. We will be back!

We spent two nights in the Stone Pine room at the Eden Vale Inn Bed and Breakfast located near Placerville, Colma, and Lotus. I cannot bestow enough praise on the B&B and the staff/owners. As other guests commented, there is nothing they haven't thought of. The rooms were immaculate and I always appreciate a friendly house cat and dog, who were mostly outside pets. I also loved the many birds, lizards, frogs, and alleged fish present. It was just fantastic. The way the room patios are designed makes you feel like you are alone in nature. I recommend swimming in the pond for a bit of afternoon exercise. There is also a great bike riding road on Deer Valley Road, and a huge mountain bike area nearby.

The setting of Eden Vale is reminscent of the south of France--rolling hills, ponds, fruit trees. The decor of the inn is not the frou-frou "grandma's house" we are used to in B & B's. The house is an old barn redone in a contemporary style (rather Zen in the feeling) with touches of Italy and the US Southwest complete every amenity one can think of--big bathrooms, robes, cd players, down comforters. Each room has outside access with a sitting area as well as a fireplace. The grounds are an adventure of discovery--plants, a pond, brick walkways and patios. We went wine tasting and ate at the same restaurant both nights in nearby Lotus because it was so good. We can't wait to go back
