We were warmly greeted by the innkeepers upon our arrival. The scenery and atmosphere were beautiful! Our selection of which cottage to choose was difficult because all were so charming. The hosts were very helpful in suggesting restaurants for dining and places to visit. One afternoon we rented kayaks nearby and the next day we went wine tasting at two nearby wineries. Every afternoon when we returned waiting for us inside our cottage were decadent chocolates, cookies or truffles. Also a decanter of vanilla sherry for sipping..yum! Lastly we must mention the delicious breakfast delivered to our door each morning! We will refer all our friends and family to Gingerbread Cottages and we will return!

Wow!!
We were on a two week trip through California and this was our last long stay. We were greeted warmly by Buddy and Yvonne and immediately made to feel "at home". The setting was amazing. The hospitality was incredible. And the food...absolutely blew me away. I kept asking people if this was what all B&Bs were like; if they are, I am definitely sold.
Yvonne and Buddy: you made our stay in Nice an incredible experience. The cottage was beautiful and we certainly will be making the effort to return!!
I will be recommending you guys to everyone. "Two thumbs WAY up!"
Cheers! |

Yvonne and Buddy are fantastic hosts! Pear cottage was clean, comfortable, cozy, and cheerful and perfect for us three friends on our yearly get-together. There's a patio with a barbecue, picnic table, and comfy chairs to relax on while drinking our morning coffee and eating delicious breakfasts (there are so many breakfast choices that we hardly knew how to choose!). There's a small pool for cooling off, and the lake is just across a quiet street from the cottages. Although there are 10 cottages on the property, the landscaping and spacing makes each one feel private. As much as we appreciated the chocolates and petit fours that appeared every afternoon, it was the thought behind them that made the most impression: every detail is covered here and Yvonne and Buddy genuinely want their guests to relax and enjoy themselves! |

Stayed at the Gingerbread Cottages for our Honeymoon! We chose the Rose cottage and it was wonderful. The view of the lake from our room was amazing. Yvonne & Buddy were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome right from the start. They were very accomodating for vegetarians/vegans and we had an excellent breakfast both mornings. They were a few minutes away from a jet ski rental place, lots of antique stores, and wineries, if you're interested! We would definitely return! :) |

I am a travel agent, and I would highly recommend this B&B to my clientele! My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the Lupiyoma Cottage, and I'm working on finding the perfect weekend to go back! This property is very quiet, and it offers privacy, comfort, and beautiful lakeviews. |

If you are looking for an almost tropical experience in California's Lake County, this is it! The cottages are very nicely designed and there is an amazing amount of small, nice details from rose pedal soap to hand-crafted chocolates waiting for you on beautiful, antique furniture when you get back at night.
The garden is very nice too with lots of shade, swings and a view of the lake right next to the property.
Be sure to visit the neighboring Ceago Del Lago winery; the most incredibly beautiful winery we have seen on gorgeous grounds right on the lake.
Best of it all: it's only 2 hours from San Francisco. |

It was wonderful. Its a great place to getaway. Our room over looked Clear Lake. Waking up to the different sounds is so nice. |

We had a fantastic view of Clear Lake from our cottage. The cottages have all the comforts of a home (kitchen, etc.) away from home. I would definitely recommend a visit. |
