Picture a historic, luxurious house in one of the most beautiful spots in the world. It was magical for me, my four girlfriends, and even the husbands were impressed when they came over one lovely evening for a meal that I insisted on having in the dining room. Better than the French Riviera!

I was part of the birthday group that Linda mentioned earlier, and I completely agree with her rave review! Everything was outstanding--especially the owners--Laura and her mother. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcomed and "at home"! Anyone interested in a unique and priceless bed and breakfast retreat should be sure to stay here. It's so beautiful and relaxing. It's la jolla de La Jolla.

Our birthday girl-friend group enjoyed our weekend getaway so much; we did not want to leave. The castle cottage was absolutely a wonderful place to relax and have fun. The view of the ocean and the sunsets were lovely to watch from the master suite balcony each night. And I liked reading in the library room (my own little get away). The area was full of sights and activities for walkers and shops and restaurants were nearby. I also enjoyed listening to the ocean, watching passersby enjoying the beautiful scene and even a wedding on the grassy park-like area above the beach. Laura and her Mother are wonderful hosts; we truly made new friends. I am so looking forward to coming back again.

This was my third stay at the La Jolla Historical Cottage. This home beckons you to return. I was delighted to hear that Laura and Mary Ruth were now offering the cottage as a Bed & Breakfast. The views from the cottage are breathtaking. I loved sitting out on the porch, being right on the ocean and having the spectacular view of the sunset. So relaxing! You can see the ocean from almost every room in the cottage. The gardens surrounding the cottage are beautiful. The food was delicious and the owners are delightful. If you get only one chance to visit La Jolla - this is the place you want to stay.

Absolutely love this place! A place to get away from hustle and bustle of Houston and just enjoy life! The peaceful sound of the ocean and the sunsets are something of a "Kodak Moment". You dont need a car, everything is easy access by walking. The innkeeper, Laura is such a hostess and makes a wonderful breakfast. The beds are so cozy and have wonderful linens to make each night feel like home. The cottage is such a wonderful piece of history and beauty. The only negative thing I can say is that I had to leave! Thank you Laura!

We just returned from a six nights stay at the La Jolla Cove Cottage B&B. The B&B is run by Mother and Daughter, Mary Ruth Barton and Laura Williams Barton. The location is suberb, with great unobsturcted views of the Pacific. It's convenient location allows you to walk to shops and sites, yet far enough away to maintain the tranquility of the setting. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the home is very interesting architecturally. The breakfast selections Laura served up each morning were not only delicious but plentiful. The Cuisinart coffee tap, what a great idea! Each morning before breakfast, we would grab a cup coffee or hot tea and head to the deck to enjoy the morning breeze. The early afternoon "happy hour" greeted us with the option of two spectacular wines, a Marlot or Chardonnay Sans Chene from South Coast Winery accompanied by a variety of different cheeses; what a special treat. The sunset from both decks is spectacular to say the least! I don't know any other location that has such a beautiful view, yet allows you to enjoy a quaint, peaceful and relaxing retreat. We fell in love Laura and Mary Ruth and look forward to planning our next trip to stay with them again!
