We stayed here when the power went out in town, and found the place, as well as the atmosphere, very warm. Many folks from town were gathering this night to dine in the restaurant (YUM) or spend the night, because the hotel has a power generator, and it's the town's hub of activities. We dine here often, and find Chef Victor's specials delicious. Our favorites are rack of lamb, lobster ravioli, and grilled fresh wild salmon. The hotel is classic boutique, with small (by American standards), but well appointed rooms, complete with Satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and free US phone calls, plus claw footed tubs, armoirs, wrought iron queen size bed frames, and colorful quilts. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel dog, Goose, is the town of Groveland's mayor! He has the certificate to prove it. Upon request, Goose also will play the piano for the guests. This is a wonderful place to dine and/or to spend the night.
