Cambria and the surrounding area offers a wealth of activities. While most travelers think no further than Hearst Castle, others have come from around the world to take part in the myriad of activities available to all who visit the Central Coast of California.

Bird Watching Cambria and its environs host a large and varied assortment of birds.

Wine Country starts just a short beautiful 20 minute ride from Cambria on breathtaking Highway 46. You will enter a world of rolling hills, magnificent vistas, including Morro Bay, farm lands and the intimate wineries scattered throughout. Here you will find a rich history of winemaking and grape growing that began in 1797. Today there are more than 70 wineries and 100 vineyards growing premium wine grapes on rolling hills that vary from 700 to 1900 feet in elevation. Wine tours can be arranged and there are winery events throughout the year.

Enjoy a walk on beautiful Moonstone Beach and search the tide pool.

Experience the South Coast of Big Sur by horseback on a private ranch and see whales, red tailed hawks, bald eagles, deer and much more.

Rent a bicycle right here in town and see everything up close and personal.

Bike, walk or take your automobile on rural Santa Rosa Creek Road. This adventure will take you to Highway 46, Paso Robles and Templeton wine region, but not before you experience ranch lands, farms, wooded creeks, red tailed hawks, wild turkeys and turkey vultures.

Hearst Castle - need I say more! This is a fun way to spend some of your time. The Castle is a taste of the life of William Randolph Hearst and his passion for this part of the world. The magnificent estate "La Cuesta Encantada" (The Enchanted Hill) is open for tours daily, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.

New to Hearst Castle- "The National Geographic Theatre" with their 5 story screen, is now showing an excellent dramatization of the building of "La Cuesta Encantada" for a charge of $7.00 for the 40 minute film and other documentaries seasonally.

Hiking, biking, kayaking.

Near by state parks and municipal golf courses.

Not to forget the charming village of Cambria with its fine art galleries and studios, antique shops, heartwarming gift and craft shops and award winning restaurants.

Believe it or not - there is much more...
