Located on the Northern California Coast just south of Mendocino, this romantic Bed and Breakfast the Fensalden Inn, was once a stagecoach stop during the 1860s. This Mendocino inn is a completely renovated 1860s era stagecoach stop that offers the traveler to Mendocino eight romantic accommodations with ocean views, fireplaces, private bathrooms and gourmet breakfasts. More than just California coast lodging, Fensalden Inn and her hosts offer a unique pampering experience to each visitor.
The inn offers picnic baskets for late arrivals, or for romantic walks along the beach. In the evening, fine dining abounds, and concerts and plays offer cultural entertainment. The Tavern Room features an antique walnut table which seats 12. Here we serve a complete breakfast, with champagne on Sundays. The glass-enclosed Sunroom overlooking the ocean may be arranged for private parties or meetings of up to 30 people. The spectacular Mendocino coast is one of the most beautiful natural settings in the world. It is the perfect quixotic setting to enjoy yourself with someone you love.

Fensalden Inn was a real treat for us, from the magnificent surroundings to the gourmet breakfasts. Details such as bathrobes, complimentary wine, and fresh flowers in each room, plus a comfy bed made our stay a most enjoyable one. The host was very friendly and helpful, as well as a great cook.

My family and I stayed at Fensalden, this last weekend for the Mystery Weekend. I could not believe how beautiful the view was from my husband and my room. There I was looking down a field then right into the Pacific Ocean. In the evening we were able to see deer grazing and in the parlor window there were dozens of hummingbird feeding. Lynn and Bob are great, they make you feel at home and take an interest in each and everyone of their guests. I hope to return soon!

I'm recommending Fensalden Inn to all my friends and coworkers. My husband and I enjoyed two nights in the Mariner Room with a breathtaking view and unforgettable sunsets. The location feels like you're worlds away and yet it's just a quick drive to Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Lyn and Bob were wonderful hosts.

Linda and I had the memorable experience of staying at the Fensalden Inn bed and breakfast for eight unusual days celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary as well as visiting with our youngest daughter in Albion. Lyn and Bob our gregarious hosts extended gracious and rewarding hospitality. Our enjoyment surrounded the beauty of the Inn and the creatures that reside there; pygmy goats, hummingbirds, deer, and ducks. We had the pleasure of residing in the 'hippie' bungalow with all the benefits of the 60's. The gourmet breakfasts will be missed and so will the picturesque and unobstructed sights of the Pacific. We cannot truly wait for our future return. Richard & Linda Coulter - Chicago IL

I can not even begin to say how amazing everything was. The Inn keepers, Lyn and Bob, were like instant new family members. The Inn has amazing history and great views of the ocean and garden. Lyn and Bob just waits on you hand and foot and Lyn makes the most wonderful mouth watering breakfast. This is our new 2nd home.

What a great find. We needed a break from the heat of the central valley, and found Fensalden on the internet. A very comfortable Inn, with fabulous hosts, Lyn and Bob. The breakfasts were great, and Lyn and Bob's stories kept us entertained. The Inn is off the main road, and the setting is very quiet -no traffic noise. We'll go back!
