The Captain Henderson House Bed & Breakfast mansion in Arkadelphia is named for its former owner and namesake of Henderson State University, Captain Charles Christopher Henderson (Henderson is Arkansas’s only public university named for an individual). This magnificent 9,000 square-foot mansion began as a small cottage built in 1876. In 1906, however, this small cottage was incorporated into what was then known as the “Big House.” Today guests come to kick off their shoes and relax in the parlor, let their inner child run free in the game room or sit back and relax in the second parlor.
Captain Henderson House offers a flexible breakfast schedule, and all of our rooms have clock radios with alarm, cable TVs, VCRs, telephones, wireless internet access, individual climate control, and private baths. Additional amenities include: irons and ironing boards, hairdryers, and guest robes. There is no refund for early departure. Weekday business travelers must give 48 hours notice of cancellation. A handling fee of $15.00 will be assessed for each reservation cancelled.
