I was a former guest and now I am a current employee of this charming Tucson Bed and Breakfast Inn.
Some time ago, on a romantic Tucson weekend get-away with my sweet-heart, I found this peaceful Alta Vista Bed and Breakfast Inn located near Saguaro National Park East, in Tucson, Arizona.
We had such a wonderful experience and were treated like VIP guests.
Gaila is an amazing hostess and for a while after our stay she kept in touch and eventually it turned into a job opportunity for me.
Now I am the Assistant Innkeeper at Alta Vista Bed and Breakfast Inn.
Working by Gaila's side I learned that it was not only us she treated like special guests but every single guest that visits here is treated special and pampered.
This charming Tucson B&B is ideal for all people of all ages and interests.
If you want a Tucson romantic get-away, Gaila and I love to "play Cupid."
Do you enjoy the outdoors?
There are plenty of great Tucson hiking trails, parks, horse back riding stables, and outdoor fun we can suggest. We are happy to help plan your itinerary for you.
Arizona Birders love our little oasis because we have many unique Tucson birds that stay at or near our Tucson, Bed and Breakfast all year long and plenty of Tucson desert wildlife that comes to visit too.
The beautiful weather here in Tucson,Arizona offers a great opportunity to enjoy the sunshine all year long and boost some good mood feelings, relaxation and create some great memories of your Tucson, vacation.
This is a place that will make you want to vacation in Tucson again and again.

Excellent
female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
When I feel the need for a peaceful getaway from my life, I book a stay at AltaVista B&B, where Peter and Gaila Smith make me feel like royalty. This wonderful couple go way above the call to make every stay as stress-free as humanly possible. We stayed 3 nights and met a delightful couple, also staying there, with whom we hope to stay in touch. Breakfasts are so delicious and plentiful! The newly redecorated South of the Border room was absolutely beautiful, with buttery sheets and new furniture. We were in total comfort. We visit Peter and Gaila as often as possible, about 4 times per year, and I would rather stay in their B&B than in our own home. Once you stay here, you will feel the same way!

Accommodations, food and hospitality were all outstanding. A lovely setting with a delightful quirkiness -- chickens (FRESH eggs), a visiting roadrunner, and Emma!

My husband and I stayed at Alta Vista for 3 nights in September of 2009. Gaila and Peter were just the friendliest people in the world to us. We felt like we were at home, that we could completely relax. Every effort was made to make us more comfortable, including making personalized vegan breakfasts for us! They could NOT have been more accommodating. The house is beautiful and we swear we saw more wildlife in their front and back yards than we did during our entire 2 week trip to AZ and Utah. Great heated pool and hot tub- very romantic!! They also have a beautiful little dog, Emma, who is a rescue. What a sweetie heart she is! We fully intend to return again one day. If you are ever in the Tuscon area you must stay here, if will be well worth it- trust us!

We stay at a B&B to celebrate our anniversary pretty much every year in recent history. This year we chose the Alta Vista in Tucson.
It is a very pretty house, beautiful views of the mountains and desert, lots of birds to watch, and clean.
The food was very good. Our hosts took care to meet our medical needs and our tastes. Very important, the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the stars and relaxing in the pool and the hot tub in the evening.
The weather is great and lots to do in the area as well.
We would not hesitate to return to the Alta Vista. We really enjoyed our weekend.

From the moment we checked in we were made to feel like long lost members of the family. We were AMAZED at all the little touches!! Your taste buds are in for a treat at the Alta Vista...from the warm brownies at check in, margaritas by the pool & the to-die-for breakfast. There was not a single thing we could've asked for that Peter and Gaila wouldn't have made happen. They were both very knowledgable about the area and gave us very good advice to make all aspects of our trip the best it could be!!

This B&B exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived! The quaint, secluded and beautiful environment was awesome for us because we like to get away from the hustle of the city. Go take a hike on one of the many trails for spectacular desert views and glimpses at desert wildlife. The breakfast both mornings was exceptional! We were offered to eat until content, and we did! The homemade, from scratch french toast and pancakes with berries were right up our alley! We enjoyed the inn keepers company and knowledge of the area. Very nice place!

My husband and I stayed at Alta Vista B&B in January to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hosts, Peter and Gaila, gave us a very warm welcome. They were always willing to help us with ideas for tourist attractions and local restaurant recommendations. They are the friendliest people you will ever meet. In our bedroom we found the fudge brownies that Gaila made and Peter's homemade lemonade waited for us in the dining room. I am still craving both! Our bed had the softest, creamiest sheets I have ever slept on, and the mattress was perfect. We did not want to leave the bed in the morning because it was so comfortable. The smell of the delicious breakfast and coffee convinced us to get up, and we were not disappointed. Gaila and Peter make the best breakfast! We were stuffed. After a day of exploring, we returned to Alta Vista and tried out the hot tub with a glass of that wonderful lemonade. The view from the hot tub of the mountains as the sun is setting is postcard perfect. Emma, the B&B's darling little dog, accompanied us to the hot tub. We can't wait to return to our favorite B&B!
