Arizona Information
Visitors to "The Grand Canyon State,"
will find a diverse selection activities and sites, including hiking, scenic
drives, boating, Native American culture, archaeological digs, shopping, golf,
casinos, and, of course, sampling some of the country's most authentic Mexican
cuisine!
Arizona boasts seven regions spanning multiple
climates. From the Grand Canyon and Sedona's famed red rocks in Northern
Arizona, to the rich riparian areas and the Old West Towns of Southern Arizona,
there are unlimited destinations to enjoy with B&Bs nearby. Don't miss the
world's largest capital city, Phoenix, in Central Arizona, or Tucson in the
South. Other great cities include Sedona and Mesa in the Central Region,
Flagstaff in the Grand Canyon Region, Lakeside in the High Country, and Sierra
Vista and Patagonia in the Southern Region.
In addition to Grand Canyon National Park, this
state offers a number of incredible state and national parks to explore. Be
sure to check out: Petrified Forest National Park in Northeast Arizona for one
of the world's largest concentrations of petrified wood; Saguaro National Park,
near Tucson, which includes beautiful tracts of Sonoran Desert and the famous
Saguaro Cacti; Tumacácori National Historical Park in Southern Arizona for the
ruins of three Spanish mission communities; Lake Mead National Recreation Area,
in which three of America's four desert ecosystems – the Mojave desert, the
Great Basin desert, and the Sonoran Desserts – intersect, creating an
unforgettable outdoor experience.
Visitors to the state also enjoy: Arizona-Sonora
Desert Museum, Biosphere 2, Kitt Peak National Observatory, and Old Tucson
Studios in Tucson; Arizona Science Center, the Desert Botanical Garden, Bank
One Ballpark, The Phoenix Zoo, and the Phoenix Art Museum in Phoenix; and
