This incident ought to be considered from the position of a traveller who, after a long and tedious day, is trying to fall asleep hoping for a restful night. In the adjacent room, a couple and their offsprings are noisily frolicking and loudly banging in the walls at midnight with no obvious intention of going to bed soon. They don't care probably because they feel very much like home. So, what remains for you to do, dear traveller? To get out of your bed in the middle of the night and demand silence? To endure the ordeal the entire night or to pack-up and leave ? Wouldn't you tell everyone about misadventure that made you feel like a zombie the next day? Would you return to such a place in future?... These and more were the thoughts I had in mind when I suggested the author of the complaint I'm alluding to, to keep quiet or be evicted. And yes, we made a mistake: we allowed this group of four in our home, even when they showed up long after the check-in-time, without even having them complete the registration form. We didn't (and we still don't ) know their name, phone number or address. We don't have a registration form for them and they did not pay one penny! Our mistake stems from our trust and respect for our guests and there are many, many of them who truly deserve both. But we can not and will not change our attitude toward our guests from all over the world from Australia to England and Japan to Israel, from Denmark to South Africa and from Switzerland to India (our "Guest Book" is testimony) and, last but not least, from our own Canada and USA, who found and will continue to find warmth, hospitality, respect and consideration at Villa Maria Country Inn in Edmonton.
