Blue Heron Bed & Breakfast offers panoramic views of mountains and is surrounded by 10 acres of wildflowers in Gustavus, Alaska. Your Alaskan hosts’ hands built their homestead and have lived in the area for over 34 years. Guest accommodations consist of Heron Guesthouse with 2 adjoining view rooms and 2 deluxe kitchenette cottages. Although privacy is key at Blue Heron, a path leads guests to the beautiful sun room commons area to dine, read from an array of naturalist materials, sip on tea or coffee or visit with other guests.

All rooms are decorated with Alaskan artwork and have private baths along with a number of amenities. A large organic garden provides countless fresh ingredients for your gourmet breakfasts and one can gaze at the Fairweather Mountains or bird life. For those who like to wet a line, Salmon River is nearby and BBQ's are available in the picnic areas. Your bed & breakfast is close to golfing, the store, cafes and ocean.

Check In Policy:
When a room or cottage is available, guests are allowed early check-in. Regular hours are around 1pm. Guests may use the sun room commons area while they wait for their room to be available.
Check Out Policy:
Check-out is noon and some flexibility is offered when possible. Guests may use the sun room commons area while awaiting transportation.
Cancellation Policy:
A cancellation fee of $50 is charged if a reservation is canceled 30 days or more from a confirmed arrival date. Any cancellations 30 days or less are subject to forfeiture unless we are able to re-book the entire reservation. Then, only a $50 fee may be assessed. We work with our guests to accommodate emergencies and have applied funds to future travel when appropriate.
Children: Children Welcome
Children are welcome at our b&b and we have been ranked as very family friendly. We have children's' books, games and videos available to make your stay pleasant. Children should be well-behaved since our b&b is a quality establishment and many guests seek the solitude afforded a small, rural area.

Deposit Policy:
We take full payment for stays of only one night and ask for a 50% deposit for stays of 2 or more nights. We hold a reservation as confirmed with a credit card number (but do not process it) and ask for a check within about 10 days of booking. The remainder is due at least 45 days prior to a guest's arrival.
