OUTSTANDING! MAGNIFICENT! SUPERB! Words cannot convey the wonderful experience you will have here. If I was grading this place on a scale of 1 through 10.... I would give them a 20 !!! The breakfast was awesome... Richard is not just a cook.... he is a Master Chef! Ellen has put a lot of thought into every detail of your stay and it shows and you will enjoy your stay so much more because of it. I have stayed at about 50 B&B's ... about a half of dozen or more have been in Europe with the rest being here in the states. And I thought I have been to some pretty outstanding ones but this place wins ... hands down... no doubt about it. Thank you Richard and Ellen... you are very special couple with a talent .... taking care of others and making them feel special. If you only go to one B&B in your life ... make it this one!

You just can’t go wrong at River’s Rest. What a great destination. Wish we could spend a week. These are the friendliest Inn Keepers we have met! From the boat ride to the golf cart tour of the area, this B&B was top notch from start to finish. The food was outstanding, the ambiance was perfect, down to the calico cat on the front porch, the peacefulness of the entire area was exquisite and the hot tub soooooo relaxing. The only downside is having to leave at night to go get dinner, so we carried a picnic and ate it on the back porch. It doesn’t get any better than this!

If you've been fortunate enough to stumble across this site, you've been blessed indeed. This B&B changed our view on lodging during trips. Normally we stay in 4 and 5 star hotels but our conceptions about travel have now changed. If this particular B&B is anything like the others, hotels may soon be a thing of the past. The accomodations here were above all expections. You can tell that the hosts hearts were put in to every detail of your stay. The home was beautiful and the meals exquisite!

Our first experience with a B&B and it was positively lovely. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to get away for a couple of days just to get away. Ellen & Richard are very hospitable and made us feel right at home and they go way beyond on the food. Even though we were only 45 minutes from home, we felt apart from everything which was exactly what we were looking for. Their house was amazing and the view of the lake was awesome from the porch and much of the house. We stayed in the Garden Room and would highly suggest it but would not have any problem staying in any of the other rooms. We cannot wait to go back!

This Bed and Breakfast far surpassed my expectation. My first experience was at a location in Tenn. I didn't know we had Bed and Breakfast in Alabama! LOL!!! As you drove up to the property you could feel the presence of God. Richard and Ellen were excellent. They make you feel right at home. That is a place I will visit at least 2-3 times a year. This is a first class place. Even though they are Christians, they don't push themselves on you. They are very sensitive to other people's needs and or concerns. I have recommended River Rest to just about every one I know. Oh yeah, may I add this is a great Honey Moon location. Thanks again Richard and Ellen for making our stay beyond Outstanding!

This was the best stay away from home that we have ever experienced. My husband and I not only got the much needed rest we were seeking, we gained knowledge of what it really means to be God sent to a place. River Rest is such an inviting place. The host are truly doing God's work. We gained new friendships that will be a blessings to us. The food was absolutely, positively fine dining at breakfast. Richard should open a restaurant.... Ellen is such a peaceful soul that operates in the spirit. And the two of them together "Awesome" is the only word we can think of to describe them. First class, first class. No matter what your social status you will feel welcomed at River Rest.

Excellent inn! Elegant, yet comfortable. We enjoyed the awesome views and the plant room. Owners are very sincere, humble and honest-dynamic Christian environment that anyone can enjoy and appreciate. Also, owners are making great strides in green living...keep up the great work!
