Stay a While
"Can't we stay just one more day" is frequently heard as families pack up to leave Weatherbury Farm.

Life on the farm is un-structured (except for morning chores) and a tranquil place to enjoy life & relax. And there is so much to see in the area. Enjoy area museums and attractions by day -- and have room for the kids to run and play at night (or as many families, you might choose to spend the day on the farm!)

Our room and suite rates offer a discount for stays of two and three night and six or more nights.

So You Want to be a Farmer?
Erase the disconnect between city living and life on the farm! Learn about farming & where your food comes from. Take part in the “Official Weatherbury Farm Kid” program. Each family (staying 2 or more nights) receives a packet about farming & every child is invited to earn an "Official Weatherbury Farm Kid" certificate. Younger children do chores & complete a picture worksheet; older children have fun doing chores & learning with our "Farm Workbook." Program is included with the cost of a 2-night stay.

Eco Eating – the green, green grass of Weatherbury Farm
Weatherbury Farm's grass-fed beef & sheep help the environment since grass, no corn is used to fatten the animals. In addition to the health benefits of grass fed meats, the environmental results are pretty impressive:

60,000 miles of fuel this year! That is the amount of miles, a 30 mpg car could drive because of our operational change from a traditional cow-calf operation to grass-fed beef. Each pound of beef represents a ½ gallon of fuel saved (fuel that is not used to plant, fertilize and harvest corn to be fed to cattle & sheep in feedlots and fuel that is not used to transport animals to feedlots). If we sell 4000 pounds of beef & lamb in 2008, that is 2000 gallons of fuel or 60,000 miles.

Through rotational grazing,we also sequester large amounts of CO2 in our soil.

A Family Farm Vacation
It’s the 21st century and Grandma no longer lives on the family farm. Make some down-on-the-farm memories. Families staying for 2+ nights are invited to participate in “Official Weatherbury Farm Kid” program.
