The Coombs House Inn, with its nostalgic atmosphere of a more tranquil, by-gone era, provides just the right setting for this most important of family occasions. The Inn is located in the historic district of Apalachicola, established in 1831 at the mouth of the gently flowing Apalachicola River. Steamboat whistles once echoed along this river when cotton was brought down from plantations for transfer to sailing vessels bound for distant ports. Apalachicola boasts a wealth of antebellum houses and buildings which recall those prosperous days. Another era of prosperity around the turn of the century saw the construction of elegant Victorian homes including the Coombs House with its high ceilings, many fireplaces, paneled walls and gleaming hardwood floors. The Inn provides lavish accommodations for the entire wedding party including a honeymoon suite with jacuzzi bath and king size four poster bed.
