For the passionate seeker of antiques, this town offers a plethora of plum shopping opportunities. It is in fact a town which is emerging as a center for antiques and features more than ten shops in the area. Mixed into the array of sweet little boutiques, art galleries feature a variety of interesting exhibits and a very successful community theatre is an interesting grab bag of cuisine. One notable example is the Queen Anne in near by Canon City. The Queen Anne is an exquisite Victorian Tea Room offering both afternoon tea and the traditional five course “High Tea” in the evening. Serving as an ideal location for sightseeing Florence is centrally located and just minutes from the Arkansas River which boasts world class trout fishing and other waters sports such as kayaking and rafting. To the west is the famed Royal Gorge Bridge, which is the largest suspension bridge in the world. Also within a short traveling distance is Pikes Peak, Colorado’s most celebrated 14er.
